It's like when a nation stops to mourn a footballer? What? What have these people contributed to society for no ones like us to still be mourning them 20 years later.

What do you know about him in that cult? There seems to be some mystery surrounding his time in it. I've heard things. Is that family really secretive? I read something like that they wouldn't say anything about his death, and his father would never reveal his real name. Sounded really suspicious. I think he was molested myself.
My neighbour is Joaquin Pheonix. I knew River, not well but I knew him enough to know he was a nice guy.

Totally wierd family life this guy had. Hell just having siblings named Rain, Summer, River,Liberty, and Joaquin. His mom and dad were members of the Religious cult in south america Children of God. Mother and Father met hitch hiking. For a short lived career he sure had an inpact, While making the movie My Own Privte Idaho he predicted the up coming increase in gay themed movies,stating also that "it might take a few of these films before there's a natural stride with the whole issue, and then one day it won't even be an issue, which is what I'm hoping. Always loved River Always will remember him.

Apparently quite a few, judging from the posts people make on them.
In many cases they have contributed to sexual fantasies for decades-yes, even when dead. I still have fantasies at times about having sex with Harry Truman, William Bendix, James Beard, William James, Dan Blocker, Don DeFore, Heinrich DeBary-fantasies keep things rolling.

Saying someones contribution and legacy to society is that they provide people with sexual fantasies after they're dead is kinda ludicrous.

I've never really understood people's obsession to celebrity, even long dead ones. Frankly it's a little sick.
Take Princess Dianne for example. A nation mourned... what the fuck for?
She was born into wealth, lived in a style of life 99.9% of people will never have, married into title, did a host of charity representations by being patron to numerous organisations (not actually charity field work) and sadly died in a car accident.
10 years of people crying conspiracy and mourning.
Mother Teressa died in the same week. A woman who did more for the name of charity than Diana ever did. Yet she slipped away, never heard about again.
People, society, can be gross.... and all for the sake of limelight and a bit of bling.

Well, opinions are opinions. And I can't change that. Well, anyway....you all know he was suppose to play the poet role in Total Eclipse, but when River died, that part was passed on by Leonardo DiCarpio.
