Look, I'm with you that focusing on this one guy is not the healthiest thing to do, but lecturing is also not appreciated. Just let things run its course...for Sam to have extracted values from his cultured following he must also take the consequences when the tides turn. One can argue the whole influencer culture is rotten—every society worships something, and we have decided, disastrously, on ourselves—but that is truly outside the scope of this forum. Feel free to tune these out if you find it mentally draining.

I’ll respond to you briefly and then leave the crumbs here for the birds to eat while Mustang Sally struggles to google what the word beseech means. I understand what you’re saying and the tone of your response is sincere which is respectable. Things have been running it’s course for days now and pages upon pages of quasi-fraudulent emails and “fake accounts” and it’s just so obviously become trendy with the whole GaysOverCovid threat fiasco by the dim-witted circuit queens who only made it worse for themselves. It’s just all getting a bit insufferable for a site that not even a fortnight ago was scrounging the web for nudes of this pretty but stale-as-week-old-bread gay man. By all means y’all continue on, I’ll just do as you wisely suggested and turn off my thread alerts until the wave of the righteous crusade blows over lol

P.S- The way I WISH I was getting paid to read through this mess lollllll at least it would have some value then! Y’all crack me up sometimes XD

This is my take on exposing these folks.
I have friends in the health care field who are at a breaking point with stupid selfish people not willing to do the right thing.
If their co-workers are among them, we and they have a right to know about it.

100%

The rage comes from us watching the [metaphorical] life drain out of our friends that are doctors and nurses and police and politicians as they desperately try to save anyone and EVERYONE. And there's a significant amount of people see that and literally spit in their face saying COVID is a hoax or that they are "living their best lives" and we're "just jealous".

The anger you're hearing is dealing with this for A YEAR and it's only getting worse due to stupid, selfish behavior by people like Sam, who make video's to his 1.5M audience on how we should stay home and protect our families which collecting a check from a COVID testing company - only to be caught red handed and unmasked down in Mexico partying it up. And when they are caught they turn their profile private, block, scrub, deny and then will inevitably claim they are victim.

People call it cancel culture - I call it an awareness of who is safe and and who will spit in your face.

I don't know who needs to hear this but Sam Cushing (and his Mary bad of phony friends) are bad for your mental and physical health.

Also it's not cancel culture. IT'S HOLDING PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS.
This.
Too many people now think due to Trump they can do and say whatever they want and there are no consequences for it and if there are, it's simply liberal political correctness out of control.

Nah, cancel culture is a thing, and it's stupid af. I agree one should be held accountable for what you say and do; but if you're joking around and are ignorant on a topic and you say something stupid/offensive, you shouldn't have to lose your entire career. Specially if it was many years ago. A simple apology should do it. Cancel culture should be reserved for the Weinsteins and the Cosbys who actually deserve to be canceled.

I think it is hard for people, especially on social media, to see these people behaving this way and look at yourself and those around you not behaving this way and want to call it out and see some justice of some form. It is human nature to both be reckless and to be tired of always following the rules all the time.

I wish I could say I am shocked at how many of them are in the medical profession, but I’m not. Our culture is incredibly selfish right now, it’s so ingrained I don’t know what would change it. Every time I see stuff like this, or crowded restaurants and bars with no masks, from both the LGBTQ+ Community and the straights, I just keep thinking- you couldn’t take one year off from this shit? One year away from your family? One year from parties, bars, traveling? Because COVID would still be there, but much more under control.

When some of these folks get back to LA, if they have it and need hospitalization, that impacts someone that needs that bed too, and maybe they didn’t just go party to get that same hospitalization result.

All this has done for me is make me look a little closer at who I follow, why I am following them, and what I want from social media. They are endangering so many people- the community there, the flights/hotels/transportation, their home communities and coworkers, etc.

As far as real life- I’m doing the best I can, I am careful and aware of my actions having consequences for people besides just myself. And I hope for the same with my friends and family, and for the most part, that has happened.

Very well said.

The culture is a thing I agree, and I also think that it's a lazy form of activism, but at the same time the impact of cancel culture is nowhere near as powerful as it's critics make out. Just think of all the celebrities/influencers/etc. who the internet have gone after and have been 'cancelled' and 6 weeks later are doing absolutely fine. The ones who unjustly lose their jobs over something they said 20 years ago are absolutely a minority (and I bet more often than not its because they've refused to apologise for it).

Weistein/Cosby/Epstein have nothing at all to do with cancel culture - that's just being a criminal.

Sam should be recording his apology video this week. He’ll probably release it in a couple weeks after this dies down. I imagine his anxiety is sky high these days. As for Jake we won’t be hearing from him any time soon. He’s probably being blacklisted by so many of his colleagues right now.

1/5 of test results poz in LA. Hospitals turning away patients. People are going to die. I don't care about their egos or careers.

It’s not the place nor the responsibility of stay at home shut in keyboard warriors to shame people, irrespective of the right or wrong of travelling overseas to escape lock downs. It is the job of government to put in place coordinated, consistent and cohesive policy to keep people safe, to keep people employed and to keep the economy going. If that had of been done in the first place, you wouldn’t have people travelling.

Yep! Definitely the governments fault. Definitely not personal responsibility, public health or just NOT being a selfish self center c#nt for a few months.
