Thought I would post about Pleasuredrome Sat eve, basically 8pm to 10pm.
It‘s easy enough to find, close to Waterloo Station. Entrance is £25 and they photograph on entry. There are in effect three directions from the bar. One leads to the way in/out and entry showers. One leads through a second shower area to dark steam room, tiered video area, sauna, dark room and light steam room. And one leads past reclining area and large hot tub to a small sauna. There are additionally bookable pods etcetera, and a massage room, but these are for extra charge. The bar requires immediate payment for drinks so a trek back up a flight of stairs to locker for card or similar - I decided it was too much bother. Some are using a phone app to pay at the bar so there are phones in the spa. I didn’t see any photography happening, but it could happen.
The spa was busy when I was there, maybe 40. The average age was higher than I expected, and physiques often not good. For that matter some unremarkable cocks as well. And not just in the "token" way, but lots of Black, Mixed, South Asian, East Asian, Arab, and of course White guys too. Very "London" in that regard and welcomely so.
(In somewhat of a random sidebar, I don't think I've seen so many cut guys at the same time in the same place in the UK lol. As a POC cut American who now lives in the UK, cut-ness or the lackthereof is something I tend to notice. So, while I personally am equal opportunities when it comes cut/uncut, I guess this further points to the racial/diversity of the guys who come to SB).
The Staff: Very nice! Respectful and kinda take any sort of initial awkwardness away. We're all there for whatever we're there for and in many ways they set the tone for easing into it all.

Just explored the website and really want to go, but it also said no cash. I don't want any tracks or sweatbox reference at my creditcard bill, does anyone knows how your visit is named at your credit card statement?

I’ve been to Sweatbox when visiting London a few times over the years, and each time I was reminded of why I didn’t like it the last time. The guys tend to be very picky and private so it’s more like a live-action Grindr than a sauna. I think most guys are not necessarily looking to play, which makes it tiresome. I’m not annoyed that they don’t want to play with me, but that they don’t seem to want to play with anyone. It’s a sauna for guys that are embarrassed that they’re at a sauna.
Covent Garden Health Spa attracts guys that are a bit older and less photogenic than Sweatbox, but they’re down to fuck rather than walking around in circles for hours. While smaller and less crowded than Sweatbox, there seemed a lot more action going on. I can’t say I’m dying to go back, but the crowd was definitely more engaged than at Sweatbox.
In general, I prefer the cruise bars, like the Vault and Bunker Bar, because the guys are unashamedly there to have sex with multiple partners and enjoy a testosterone fueled atmosphere. However, there’s little to no privacy, so they might be overwhelming for a lot of guys.
