Thing is, he calls Sam a friend. Usually friends know some of those people's personal life a little. Plus it wasn’t like Sam going by they/them pronouns was something unknown.

See, some people here were calling him a straight ally. If he was one he would def show his respect and write a public apology because that matters. Look at what he did in his instagram with BLM; he went to the protests in person but also used his plataform with millions of followers to go through. Thats why it would be important for him to apologize. Because Him and Sam might go privately and solve things, but what would that mean to the LGBTQ+ comunity? Isnt Shawn good and vulnerable and "perfeclty imperfect"? Why not show he's learned from his mistake then?

Exactly. Even if they personally apologize, he can take this opportunity to learn to stand up. Hell, he even talked about respecting pronouns after talking about Teddy's transitioning so he knows better.

It’s him using the wrong pronouns for Sam Smith, him constantly shoving his relationship with CC in order to prove he isn’t gay and his interviews about not being gay and how it gives him anxiety. I mean he can be straight but he’s still boring af

I think he should embrace the hotness. Didn’t he say something about letting his body go to be appreciated more for his music? That’s cool — I want him to go through that phase of it gets us better music.
