What is your relationship with this essential part of our Earth dwelling lives?

I can't fall asleep right now. I don't always have issues getting to the :zzz::zzz:but from time to time I can't get there. Sometimes I have horrible, violent nightmares. Sometimes I have stress dreams about work.

Lately I dream about my dogs, they both died of natural causes within the past few years (not to get all morbid, but I feel it's on topic)

I really enjoy the cartoon-ish dreams though.. brains are weird.

What's your sleep cycle like? Do you have particulars?

I find my sleep goes in cycles depending on my life. I’m positive stress plays a big part in how well (or not) I sleep.
Some nights I fall asleep quickly and wake up very refreshed. Others I wake up a few times in the middle of the night and feel drained in the am.
Dreams are an entirely different subject!

One Ambien 10mg tablet and then one 12.5 CR Ambien and it is LIGHTS OUT for 6 or 7 hours. If it wasn't for the miracles of a fantastic sleep doctor, there would be NO SLEEP for me.

When I can I usually have an edible (THC infused) in these situations, but none available tonight.

Works like a charm.

Sorry about your dogs. They're part of the family, of course.

Thank you

Long, spoiled lives they lived.. as does the kitty friend they helped me raise. He is best friend. Such a wonderful lil animal family

Certainly. Have a cat that's 16 and a half and although she's good now I'm still dreading the day. We've all gone through it before, but it doesn't get any easier.

Here. :zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz:

I go through phases of sleeping with few issues contrasted with times where I sleep a few fractures hours for days (sometimes weeks) at a time. I've found that a drink called Neurosleep with melatonin in it helps some. I occasionally use melatonin gummies, but the Neurosleep seems to work the best for me. Like any other sleep aid, talk with your doctor before trying, etc. etc.

I have phases of remembering my dreams a lot or having zero clue what I dreamt. Lately I've been having a bunch of wild dreams, with a lot of people from different times in my life span which is unusual. I typically rarely have people I know in my dreams.

I hope you're able to get some Zzz, TnJ

I never use sleep aids of any kind. I do drink a bunch of water a few hours before bed which seems to help. Also, serious workouts help me sleep like a brick!
As for dreams, for about 3-4 months, I'll have awesome dreams. The next 3-4 months, horrible, unspeakable nightmares which I have to actively control the whole time, then can never remember them upon awakening.

A few times a year I will have bad nights where I am totally restless and cannot get settled to fall asleep. Typically I use those occasions as an excuse to quickly dress, tie my hair back and go for a fun night drive.

Usually I sleep really well despite having a constantly moving schedule of eating, exercise, morning starts and evening departures. I am very low-stress and often have a glass of wine or some other alcoholic beverage in the evenings which helps float into dreamland. After sex I am also totally comatose.

A woman who works at the Target Pharmacy says that the best thing for a good night's sleep is for the person to have nice glass of wine and a good screwing in the sack. I don't know for sure if it was what she recommends or what she practices.

good sex always knocks me out!

Sometimes an intense orgasm will wake me up. More effectively than caffeine.. sometimes we're in bed and getting ready to end the night, then sex happens and I can't fall asleep.

That's when I grab the bong, and something little and sweet to munch on. Usually works..

"sleep may be the enemy"

Me and sleep do not see eye to eye. Which sucks cuz I love sleeping. Without some powerful meds I just don't sleep. I might nod off for an hour or two, but quality sleep would be a rarity.

Dreams. I have amazing dreams. Full length techno-color movies playing in my head. Nonsense one off. Sepia toned impressionistic turns.

I remember most of my dreams and most times function in a state of lucid dreaming. Heaps of ideas for comics and designs came out of the dreamtime.

ETA: insomnia has introduced me to some interesting/novel forms of entertainment. It's also helped me develop Ninja skill for steal thing around the house without waking any one up.

I am the total opposite. Great sex > grab a towel to wipe up or contain the mess > cold water > pass out. Sometimes we are so lazy that we will fall asleep with him still in me.

That's happened to us before, once was in our vehicle. That mini-vibe in the cooter when he put himself in the booty suggestion I made in another thread... Yup. We both had explosive orgasms and immediately fell asleep, in the front seat, in the middle of the day. That... Was a good day.

When I was in my 20's, I wanted to reduce my sleep by 5 minutes a night until I could get by on just one or two hours. Seemed like such a waste of time when I had so many things I'd rather be doing. Of course, I was never successful. Oh, and it turns out that sleep is one of our critical biological needs... who knew? ;) I think of it this way: a typical person can go longer without food than he or she can without sleep. That ranks sleep up there pretty high... oxygen, water, sleep, ....

I used to drink caffeine and would have to stop by 3pm to be able to get to sleep at night. It sucked taking night classes... I could fall asleep in class easily while drinking a Mt. Dew and then go home and stare at the ceiling wondering why I couldn't sleep.

In my 30's, my life got very hectic with kids and I never seemed to get enough sleep. I need 8 to 9 hours to feel good. More than 9 is too much. I typically get 6.5-7 hours... but 6 hours or fewer... I'm a negative grump. Between working out regularly and also only getting 6.5-7 hours of sleep, it does make it easier for me to fall asleep at night.

When I can't sleep, I like to turn on the TV and watch a boring show... or a movie I've already seen that isn't too action packed. Not that long ago I fell asleep watching Aliens... whoops, bad choice... first the action kept me up a while and second it triggered some nightmares. Those aliens are scary... even 30 years later. Watching a nature TV show where the tiger is stalking the pack of zebras and the narrator drones on and on and the first pack gets away and then it's a lion stalking something else.... that's good falling asleep stuff. ;)

Strangely, so far every night in 2018 I've had a nightmare or stress dream. Don't know what's going on...

It's also helped me develop Ninja skill for steal thing around the house without waking any one up.
What kinds of things to you steal @MickeyLee? ;) Just kidding, that autocorrect ...

@BetterFuture, your tactics of watching slightly boring stuff is another I didn't think to mention! I usually do reruns of cartoons, or a good nature doc... There's no way I'd be able to fall asleep to Alien, I love that shit so much I can watch it again and again, never gets boring. Xenomorph is my fucking Spirit Animal.

No good about the stress dreams/nightmares.. I hope 2018 doesn't turn into 2016 pt. 3. This year needs to be BETTER! Your name suits you
