I am the only person in the entire world with my full name. A handful of posters here know it. Quite a few people here know my first name. (Especially since one of my friends has a terrible habit of outing people's names.) I am one of three people in my country (according to the census) with my first name. Women who post pictures of themselves (even PG-13 ones) are many times more likely to receive unwanted attention from completely ridiculous men. I'm not a pussy. I'm practical.

I don't think people are afraid of being found, they're afraid of being recognized. There's a big difference. Who cares if some stranger recognizes you at the grocery store, it's the people you already know that you don't want recognizing you. People are afraid of their co-workers recogizing their photos. Or even worse, a family member! No, worst of all, an ex-boyfriend! Yikes!

I couldn't care less, that you don't care about being recognized, by strangers or people you know. Calling people out and saying that people who don't show their face "pussies" is insulting. You are talking to mostly everyday average people. People with things to gain and lose. If you take away the average person that are afraid to join because they feel obligated to show their face; all you are left with are people who have nothing to lose. And chances are that forum community will either be few to none, and if not, too absurd to relate to.

i was being respectful to others online and in real life. it did not get me anywhere.. just the way thing are going in real life I maybe forced to be a asshole to get somewhere.... I do hate being walked all over by others

I posted pics then took them down immediately for what Petite said...fear of being recognized. I could care less about people I know...it's related to work. Well..I definitely don't want my parents to know I am on lpsg....my ex would go ballistic and get depressed that I needed more than he had to offer, etc.

There are many reasons people don't have pictures up, calling them "pussies" isn't very nice. And using a woman's body part as an insult isn't very nice either.
For the most part, the "anonymity" is what makes this site so great. It gives people the opportunity to share things that they might not feel comfortable sharing with people they know. I have posted personal things that I could NEVER tell my family or friends.
Some people here have children and would understandably be concerned that being identifiable could put themselves in awkward circumstances. e.g. A divorced parent going through a custody issue with their ex. Considering the nature of this site, their ex's lawyer could paint membership to this site as "deviant sexual activity" and unsuitable parent factor. Okay I'm probably exaggerating a bit with that example but still...
Some members choose anonymity for themselves, some choose it out of concern for their families.

Dude, don't forget about the "big picture." The internet is forever. Once you post a cock-in-hand pic of yourself, there's a darn good chance it'll be out there forever. Even if you remove it, it'll still be sitting in people's browser caches. Which people? Well, me for one. *wink* What's to stop people from re-posting cached pictures?
