I've always been a fan of NIN/Trent, but Johnny Cash's cover is the definitive version of this song - amazing raw emotion in it...

Watching the movie, "The Dish," which is about how an Australian radio telescope contributed to the Apollo 11 mission to land the first men on the moon. In the soundtrack was this song - a bit batshit crazy (from the musical, "Hair"), but so evocative of the period. Brings back some sense memories from my early childhood.

Another song from the "The Dish" soundtrack that I found so hopeful (the late '60s were a great time for optimistic pop music) . . .

A poignant song about a May-December relationship by brilliant songwriter. Maybe this song is appealing to me due to wish fulfillment, but it is a truly brilliant and sweet composition, and I'm so pleased that there is such a beautiful live performance of it.
