I am totally addicted to this show. love it. And also love the actor who play Spartacus.

I'm loving the show. Yes, lots of hunky men and gorgeous women in various states of undress, but it actually works plot-wise, and the pacing is good. I'm drawn into the story 100%. Andy Whitfield has non-hodgkins lymphoma, which is pretty serious. My thoughts and prayers go out to him. I think he's been fantastic in the role. Now that I know what he's going through, and what was definitely going on inside his lymph nodes while those very scenes were being filmed, I'm kind of affected by it all. Ya ya, celebrity adoration and all, but geez, he's just a guy with a family, trying to make a living as an actor, and now he has this really terrible cancer. My heart goes out to him.

It's a good show. Very McBeathian main characters in Lentulus and Lucretia Batiatus, although the show is ostensibly about Spartacus, who was a real live leader of a slave rebellion. John Hannah just steals most of the scenes he's in, and Lucy Lawless has far more range, than I imagined and is still pretty hot. Sorry to hear that about Whitfield, he's got a nice stoic character to him.

The comic book heightened violence is definitely 300 inspired, but the excessiveness makes it so much less real, that the gruesomeness is less offensive.

All the critics panned it originally, but I think the plot lines have progressed well. Asher is the master of intrigue, and I can't wait for Illythia to get hers. One more epi to come...

i think that was an awesome season finally, very bloody and a lot of betrayl going on lol it is definitely worth watching!!
im just wondering how they are going to keep the same sex/violence in the show next season. the violence will continue on in the the war but the sex im not so sure how that would play out... well they do have the slaves with them...

My wife hates violence and I told her she wouldn't enjoy this series then and I watched the first 5 or 6 episodes without her. When she saw the 7th episode, she said exactly the same thing you did and loved the show! She's been hooked since and demande to watch from episode 1 all over again.

Great show. Although with the lymphoma and all, the second season is being put on hold until he gets better. In the meantime there are other projects for filler like a few episodes dealing with his youth and all.

loved the finale; especially with the blonde bitch of the wife of the roman, who ordered the front doors sealed; from the outside! and her parting comments! wow. curious how a 2nd season will work - this could have been the end of the 'mini series' but hope it continues.

One of the most entertaining series ever. Something for everyone...gay, straight, bi, etc. The plot line was virtually Shakespearean, the acting very good, the writing outstanding. I got sucked in from the beginning and couldn't wait for each Friday to roll around to catch the next episode. I hope Andy Whitfield recovers...first because of him and his family and second (selfishly) because he's great and I'm looking forward to another season. But, he really does need to get better because he needs to get better. Great, great show!

I too thought the show was great and can't wait for it to return for a second season.

Am I the only one who think Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) might still be alive? I know she was stabbed in the stomach and all, but I swear when she was lying there in the atrium and Batiatus was killed and fell before her, she was still alive, as I swear her eyes were blinking and moving. Spartacus left her to die, only to have some Romans come and find her alive and nurse her back to health. It seems like a waste to kill her off as I think she could bring a lot to the table in the second season as she has major story lines with almost all of the main characters.

Anyone agree or am I totally off my rocker?

i agree with you, i think that lucy lawless should be some how saved , she would enhance the plot of the next season and she is the star of the show! she has always been the driving force behind the men, so to speak. and the show could have so many more plot twists if she is kept in, they never really showed her die. so they could bring her back thru the medicaus! hers is an important role. here's hoping.... i know ill be waiting with bated breath.lol......
