Why is the guy on the left wearing 2 pair of Speedos? Is it something to do with water polo?

Some swimmers train with 2 on so that when they race in a small comp ssuit it is lighter. Or maybe he is packing big time and needs to restrain his goods?

Yes, good guess, it has to do with water polo. There's so much aggressive grabbing and tugging in water polo that it isn't uncommon for swimwear to be torn. Occasionally you'll even see a player with swimwear that was torn during a match.

Speedo and other brands used to sell rubber-coated or PVC-coated suits for even better protection. Some people like the shiny look of PVC water polo suits, so eBay is loaded with them.

Big speedo fan here. those things are made for swimming and tanning! and it shows your package perfectly....

Here's an eBay seller modeling a vintage pair of PVC Speedos, which suggests water polo trunks have evolved into fetish wear instead of sports wear these days...

Below is a set of PVC-coated Speedos from another ebay auction.

I used to own Arena water polo briefs like the briefs below. The PVC coating was a bit like leather armor, which made them really snug.
