"Str8" vs. "Straight"

Do these two terms mean exactly the same thing? Just wondering.

You're probably going to get varying opinions on this... here's my interpretation:


Straight = straight.

Str8 = Says he's straight, but is secretly gay/bi and can't admit to it. (this different from "closeted" because this also refers to guys who are presumed to be gay when they might just be effeminate straight men) or refers to masculine gay guys.

I think there is no hidden meaning, I just think that we are so used to the guys who say they are 'str8' to also profess interest in men whether it be sex or just 'comparing.' If I were to tally the guys who have PM'd me about comparing/etc, I would say like 80% of them used str8 instead of straight (out of the ones who identified as straight/str8 of course).
