T Injections/Roid Use

I'm on TRT gel. Would not recommend if you're looking for the insta-boost I've been reading about. It's slow to build up in the system and the 'oomph' that I was hoping to regain is really slow to show up and it's frustrating reading/watching others feel the life difference faster with more intense results.

I’m currently doing T injections twice a week, plus injecting Gonadorelin.
I can’t do TRT gel because I have a very affectionate dog who likes to lick lol. I’m fine with the injections. It’s faster and cleaner than gels, to me.

I'm on 200 ml/wk of test-c and 1mg Arimidex E3D to lower estrogen. It's all prescribed from my primary care doc. He's a big muscle guy himself and is really good about making sure all his patients have 'optimal' hormone levels at all times.

I think the "Normal" range for test is something like 300-900 ng/dl, and he swears by keeping people right at the top limit at like 800-900. I tested at like 860 last time I had blood drawn. It works too, tons of energy, and feel great.

PS. I have ever run a cycle. Not for lack of desire, but mostly because I couldn't commit to the hard work and diet plan that is really required for all that due to my career. I plan on it soon though even though I would be starting at 45 years old.

I’m currently on 80mg twice a week (.4 ml of 200mg/ml). I have thought about doing a cycle, since my T is shot, anyway.

That's what I figure. I've relegated myself that I will be sticking myself for the rest of my life in order to keep in the "higher-than-average- range, and I have a really great doctor as a primary care who is all about TRT, so since I am poking myself once a week (or twice, or whatever) then there's a lot of options. I won't do it unless I can devote the gym time and meal prep time though because it's a waste IMHO.

Where are you getting yours? Rx through regular doctor? TRT doc? Online randomly?

I'm actually really jealous. My primary just said "no" when I suggested he could prescribe that.

I know it's much easier said than done, but try as hard as you can to find a new primary. There's insurance implications, and I don't know any of you [other] health issues (if any), but having a primary in your corner and on your side on this makes a world of difference in quality of life. Good luck!

I've been told insurance won't cover it unless physician indicates it's for procreation. Gotta love heteronormative medicine.

I worried that my testosterone may be too low. Total T was about 250-300. In range but lower. I had been doing keto and the higher fat diet gave a boost to my testosterone level to 550. Remember testosterone requires fat for production. Low fat diets tend to kill T.

My primary claimed my testosterone was "fine" even though it was at the lowest end of the normal range.

I had to shop around for a bit to find a doctor who would help. It ended up being a urologist and I've been on a prescription for about 6 years now.

Been through about 5 doctors over 12 years. Big gaps between doctors and always takes about half a year of bullshit before they even try to treat. Then something happens that concerns them and they takke me off or lower TRT. Back to suicidal and no energy. Its fucking hell. And when youre dirt poor poverty, youre at the whims of state insurance and only certsin doctors take that do my range of available doctors to "shop" is limited.

My experience with endocrinologists have drastically lowered my faith and made me jaded towards finding doctors.

Sorry my comment didnt really add any value to the discussion

Just know this: If you are within normal testosterone range, without TRT, you are doing this as an elective procedure. Given the possible long term effects of TRT for some... I'd stick to eating right, getting proper sleep, and of course your gym routine. I've been on TRT for over a decade now. I stay right in the middle which is what one should want. And even at the so called 'boring" level, I get acne on my jaw from time to time (at 60+ years old). And my balls are shrunk a bit. Also I now donate blood on a regular basis to prevent clotting down the road. Sure I could do more T... But why? Do you plan on following this for years to come? Or just for now to improve your current gym workouts?

It should be considered a life long treatment. When you stop (and you certainly will if you're doing it simply as a steroidal enhancement). Your body will then need to start ramping up is own production again. Sort of like withdrawals for your endocrine system.

Guys, also make sure you know the history of prostate cancer in your family. I took T injections for about 4 years until my dad was diagnosed, and eventually died, with prostate cancer. I took him to some of his appointments with his urologist, and he strongly advised me to stop taking the shots as they would exponentially increase my chances of getting it. And yes, I've hated not taking them. My levels are now back down to the 80-100 range, and I can tell a big difference in many aspects of my life. My own GP said he'd re-prescribe them at any point, just that he wanted me to be the one to make that call. So far I haven't started them back...

Mine is through Viking Alternative, prescribed after I did a few blood draws to verify my natural T levels. I was previously prescribed Clomid and Anastrazole to help with my t-levels, and they helped double my T-levels. But. It’s pills. I am weird about taking pills, for some reason. I have a liver in recovery - I’m an alcoholic in recovery (719 days today) and I know I prob did some damage to my liver - although tests come back normal. But whatever. My t-levels came up, but still not as high as they should be for a guy in his 30’s who is very active (I lift in the mornings, I for an hour at night, I walk A LOT, and I eat clean - with the exception of a dessert once or twice a week).
Before I was prescribed TRT, I figured “well, hell. My T levels are already shot. Maybe I should do a cycle.” So I bought enough for a 12 week cycle, online. Here is what I bought, and the instructions:
Testosterone Enanthate (TestE), 500mg per week for 12 weeks.

Aromasin (AKA “aro”) – 12.5mg EOD.

PCT - Clomid & Tamoxifen (AKA Nova). You will begin 2 weeks after your last injection of testosterone.

PCT will last 4 weeks:

Dosages: Clomid: First 2 weeks 100mg/day, next 2 weeks 50mg/day.

Tamoxifen: First 2 weeks 40mg/day, next 2 weeks 20mg/day

So now I’m sitting on this gear, and really really contemplating going from TRT to a full-blown cycle.

right now I’m injecting 80mg of 200mg/ml of Test C twice a week. And .25mg of Anastrazole.

One of the affects of a damaged liver is lowered testosterone. Are you eating a liver friendly diet now? I'm no doctor, but I'd go full liver recovery diet mode and see how your T level are in a few months. :)

If people are having trouble getting T from their doctor, and you're well versed on how much you should be taking and the proper protocols, there are options to obtain it (plus supporting medications like Arimidex, etc.) online that aren't readily advertised on Google or social media and are way less expensive than hitting up the biggest dude at your gym.

Yes, my diet is pretty great. Most everything is cooked at home. No fried foods. Two sweet treats per week. Limited carbs. High protein. High fiber. I love fruits and veggies. My last test showed a fully functioning and healthy liver. That is why I don’t want to damage it again. It took two years of being sober and eating and living well to let the lil guy heal up.

Agreed. I went the route initially of getting a cycle online from forums. But decided to pursue the route of TRT instead, for the longevity aspects of it. I DO still want to do a cycle, tho….
