Tell me your Clothing-Optional Gay Resort Experiences

How was it?
A little odd this trip. Not full - which I thought it would be this time of year- and a less friendly than usual crowd. Also, the weather was colder than usual so the pools were less used. The steam room was out of order for about 1 1/2 days of the 3 days I was there which also hurt the opportunities to interact with other guests.

Any experience with european resorts? Villa 3 in Lisbon looks interesting and there are lots in Gran Canaria that i'd consider visiting

Inn Leather review

The most important thing to know about Inn Leather is that the demographic skews older: not 40s and 50s, but 60s and 70s+. When I was there, only 10 percent of the guys were under 65. Despite the name, the scene is not so much kink or fetish as it is older and out of shape.

Most of the guys are locals on day passes. They arrive around 10:00 or 11:00 and spend the day hanging out at the pool. Everyone is completely naked and, as there is no enclosed playroom, all the sex takes place in the open. A lot of guys get sucked off in the pool. There’s also a sling and a picnic table for guys to get fucked. Most of the guys engage in sexual activities for a bit, but it’s not a full on orgy.

It’s also important to note that the day passes all end at 5:00, when everyone that is not staying in one of the ten rooms is escorted out. As the vast majority of the guys there are on day passes, the place becomes a ghost town after 5:00. You can invite your own guests over (and let them in the gate) but otherwise the options for “fresh meat” are limited.

The rooms are very basic and grungy. No one stays there for the quality of the accommodation.

The advantage of staying at Inn Leather is, unlike other clothing-optional hotels in Fort Lauderdale, almost everyone is looking for sex. The disadvantage is that I didn’t want to have sex with most of them. I was hoping the vibe would be more like 321 Slammer (a diverse set of guys of all ages and types being piggy) but with sleeping rooms.

The scene is pretty chatty and social so if you like hanging out naked with slutty guys in their 70s, it’s definitely the place for you. Otherwise, there’s not a lot to recommend it. I’m not bashing older gay men and I think it’s wonderful that they have a place to hangout and have fun. The place caters to a very specific demographic and it’s either you thing or it’s not.
How many times have you been there? I’m staying there soon for a long weekend. It’ll be my first time at that property. Have stayed at other clothing optional resorts in FLL before.

Hoping the demographic is more diverse.

I’ve only stayed there once, but got the impression from talking to people that the crowd was representative. If you’re looking for a more diverse and younger demographic, I suggest going elsewhere. I don’t plan on going back.

Has anyone tried Hotel Gaythering in Miami? I know not nude but gay
I’ve not stayed there, but got a day-pass for their mini-bathhouse on the ground floor, which is really just a large hot tub, if I recall. Guests have free access. There were a couple of guys there but I didn’t see any action. Certainly nothing like Island House or the friskier properties in Fort Lauderdale. Not a bad option if you want to visit Miami Beach, but it’s not a sexcation destination in its own right. The demographic skews younger and more affluent than Fort Lauderdale. Lots of 20s-to-30-something couples on vacation, but I think they are looking to party in the clubs rather than hookup in the hot tub. I go to Miami a lot for work and there are not a lot of Sniffies ads at the venue.

I've been going to Fort Lauderdale for a dozen years - once or twice a year. Have always stayed at Clothing-Optional Gay/Bi Male Resorts. In order of when I stayed:

1) Windamar - now closed or changed to a straight establishment - it was located a few blocks from the beach. Kind of run-down motel style with pool in center. Had a dark room/play area. When I was there, it was clean even though shabby. Lots of play around the resort. By the pool, rooms with blinds pulled open so you could see nude guys - love that scene so much, playroom always had one or several guys, all sorts of guys age and body type, day pass guys. It was a fun week.

2) Worthington - stayed there once. Can't remember which part (there are three buildings). I think I stayed at the Alcazar part. It was the smaller of the 3. Felt isolated. Not a community feeling. Guys were snooty. Didn't need to be. Lots of swimsuits at the pool with is so annoying at clothing-optional places. Had no erotic or sex vibe when I was there.

3) Cabanas - have spent at least half of my visits at Cabanas. LOVE IT. Staff is great, layout is really open to community and socializing. 2 pools and a beautiful in-ground hot tub. Beautiful landscaping. Most everyone is totally nude all the time. All different kinds of guys - older, younger, etc. In Wilton Manors. There is some friskiness during the day, but no overt sex so everyone feels comfortable. You can go to the steam room and play. Or in your room. There's definitely a playfulness to the resort. Rooms are great, updated and VERY clean. At night after dark, I have fucked by the hot tub and had a group scene. Have had guys visit, never a problem. I was there during a hurricane, which ended up missing us, but the staff was amazing throughout the event. Only drawback is it's not near anything. You are there and you have to drive or Uber/Lyft the moment you walk off the complex. Still, this is my go-to spot. The visits I haven't stayed there is because I booked too late.

4) Ed Lugo - also in Wilton Manors. This place is the best location by far. A block from Wilton Creamery. Short walk to all the Wilton Manors shops, bars, restaurants on the Drive. The place is nice, clean, rooms can be a little odd, it's a patchwork of older buildings nestled together. I don't mind funky, eclectic, it's fun. Ed is amazing as is his staff. I've been there off-season both times. Scene is very relaxed. I did have full on sex in the hot tub in the middle of the day, but most of the time, everyone seemed really relaxed, not particularly sexual, but lots of nudity, also lots of couples. I like to walk around these places at night and see if anyone has their blinds open and is showing off. Found none of that, but again, I was there off-season. I would def go back there again. Don't need to rent a car. Can Uber/Lyft everywhere. I also had a fuck buddy come over twice and had two massage guys there twice and neve a problem with mgmt.
Ed also hosts these summer pool parties where his property is PACKED with guys. Sounds like a lot of fun:

Feel free to ask me more questions either here or in DM.
This review was from a while back. Does this still stand true for Ed Lugo and Cabanas? Anybody been there more recently?

I agree. Was disappointed by my experience. The property is run down and falling apart, even something like Motel 6 would be more upscale. The average age of the clientele was around 75, not even exaggerating. I love a DILF, but morbidly out of shape grandpas aren’t my thing. If that’s what you’re into though, there’s plenty of action to be had.

I’ve stayed there. It’s not a resort and doesn’t really have an area to lounge outdoors and mingle. Think a small hotel with a bar and a mini bathhouse. Plenty of hot guys in the bathhouse throughout the day though, and like someone else said, OF boys will come film their content in the rooms.
