We should be playing for the national title -- when you consider that Florida's one loss came at home, OU's one loss came to us on a neutral field, and our one loss came on a last-second miracle on the road against a really, really good team. So yeah, Go Horns!

Please spare me the drama about sharing a national title. Florida lost to Ole Miss, which in case you haven't noticed just whooped up on Texas Tech. While I am a fan of Texas (and especially Colt McCoy), the Big 12 plays absolutely no defense, and it was sad that Texas barely beat Ohio State. Big 10 teams are not near the caliber of SEC teams, and the media hyped up the no defense Big 12 this season. It was a shitty offense vs a shitty defense tonight. And it was a shitty game until about 5 minutes left to go.

While I don't disagree that you should be playing Florida over Oklahoma, you would get smacked down by General Tebow and his army. USC is the only team that can compete with Florida. I repeat, THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN THE BIG 12. And there will be no defending Florida.

Congrats on the victory though, put the big ten back where they belong.

Does anyone else think that Colt McCoy is going to have 'issues' when he graduates. And although his first name is Daniel, he goes by his porn name. Just food for thought.

The first half of the game sucked ass. Texas looked like itself offensively in the third quarter, but sputtered a bit in the fourth. OSU was badly unprepared to deal with the hurry-up offense, and it cost them big. It wasn't until the last possession that the game got really exciting to watch...but what a finale for Quan Crosby's college career, right? You couldn't have scripted a better ending for the guy!

All told, I'm glad I Tivo'd the game to watch it...my 30-second-skip button got a lot of use last night. I'll give Mack Brown this, though...the man is one hell of a coach.

there is no doubt that the SEC is the premier conference. However...Utah spanking the shit out of Alabama begs the question...just how good are the SEC defenses? Alabama had the premier defense in the SEC, Utah went through it like a hot knife through butter.

Now you've got the most productive offense in college football history (OU) going up against Florida's D.

You might be in for a surprise, Skull.

we have played SEC teams before, as in earlier this year against mizzou (which was our win, and a pretty good game). it is college football overall this year that is doing bad. nothing is predictable. we had an awesome start then after the oklahoma games, started slacking. STOP HATING! haha

Damn son, "mizzou" is a big 12 team. And this has been one of the greatest college football seasons ever, so I don't know where you get that "college football overall this year is doing bad".

The most productive offense in college football history that played in one of the worst defensive conferences in recent history.

I was never a believer in Alabama, I knew Florida would spank them. Florida was and is the premiere defense in the SEC and in the country (aside from USC).

And don't forget about Utah, those guys playing for them in that game are Urban Meyer's seeds. He recruited them, he coached them. They run the same offense that he put in there. They also had more to prove and more to play for. Alabama, riding high all year, and then losing out on the national championship were less motivated. Combine that with a hungry and talented and Florida-esque Utah team and it was a recipe for disaster.

Oklahoma's offense looked scary during the season, until you think about the high school defenses it was playing against. The willpower of Generale Tebow is unmeasurable; he is a man playing against boys.

Let us make a wager; if Florida wins you have to donate 5 dollars to barack obama.

That's a deal. And you five to the Wall Street Reclamation Fund.

I'll make it ten if OU doesn't hang at least 30 on Florida.

When I graduated from The University of Texas, Austin, Austin, Texas, and obtained my doctorate I had to invest in $250 worth of academic regalia (cap and gown and black jock strap -- OK, I'm kidding about the jock strap). On the shoulders of my gown are these yucky not-quite-orange, not-quite-tan satin stripes. Same goes for the cap. I asked the person fitting me why the colors were so damn ugly. The response was (and it seems to be true, because everyone backs up this story) that some UT Football Coach in the 30's had a meeting with the manufacturer of the athletic uniforms and told him (or her) "See this football? I want the contrasting color on all the football teams uniforms to be this exact same color!" The idea being that if the football uniforms were white and shit brown/orange it would be more difficult for any opposing team to easily see which player had the ball because it would sort of be camouflaged.

I'm pretty much over those painful years as a grad student at UT, but upon those rare occasions I have to don the academic regalia, well . . . shit brown/orange just doesn't inspire me to hope that UT wins.

Not "250k" LOL. Compare tax returns?

Is it really necessary to attack in every thread? Grow up.
