I think he was bisexual. Did it with both girls and boys.
IDK, I think he was just an open-mided (and ambitious) str8 boy. All the urban legend Hollywood Babylon s/m stories aside, which I never believed, the ONLY real documented same sex encounters were his relationship with an older gay producer Rogers Brackett who helped him break into his early live TV roles, he confided in his best friend that he let Brackett blow him in thanks for his help. He said it did nothing for him, and he just sat there and concentrated on a fly buzzing around the ceiling until it was over. And the same best friend who was gay, wrote long after Dean's death that one night (bc Jimmy knew he wanted it so badly) Jimmy let him have his (non recip) way with his body in bed. Other than that his long term relations were all with women. Like Liz Sheridan (Mother on Seinfeld) whom he was with for two years.
*he DID live with the older gay producer for a while and was supported by him. He was "purported" to have written an autobiography (also long after Dean's death) that told ALL about his relationship with him. But (like Capote's Answered Prayers) the manuscript has never been found.

That best friend of his was also his lover, William Bast.

elizabeth taylor, a close! friend of his outed him on an aids awards dinner...she listed her gay friends and said jimmy........

I think he was bisexual. Did it with both girls and boys.
no one is completely sure... most people back then (Scotty Bowers, etc.) said he was an opportunist more than sexually anything... he'd fuck a drainpipe if he thought it could get him a film deal.

For me, Paul Newman was probably the most handsome man ever! Where are men like him today? I would give anything for a man like him. Newman made sweat an aphrodisiac.
newman, was a great guy, great actor, sex symbol, and humanitarian........tops all around!

and quite a few bisexual rumors.... there was one man who once said of Newman- 'I never say a man's gay unless he's sucked my dick...Paul Newman is gay.'

A harsher assessment of what I said re ambitious, but yes lol. And a LOT of ppl outed him (after he was gone) Ole' Grampa Walton claimed to have had hard core leather s/m encounters w him (the root of the extinguishing cigs on him tales) but I think it's all BS. He was an actor, the ppl in power were men, and if they were closeted gays who wanted him and could help him, he prolly sat back and let it happen like many others str8s did who took their secrets to their graves.

again, search elizabeth taylor / aids awards on you tube.....she was his friend, she was there, she knew him.......how can you not accept what she said?
I accept that she SAID it, just don't think dear Liz was accurate. She was from a different time, the idea of G4P (or G4 career advancement :) was not really in the zeitgeist. And thou he was a friend, it was not a 15+ year friendship like with Monty, or 30 + years with Rock, they met on what was his last film, and he died shortly after wrapping. I give more weight to the those friends he lived with or had long term relationships with like his GF of sereval yrs, those who knew him more intimately for the last 5 or 6 years of his life. (who knows, in a chat about the casting couch that existed at the time for ALL beautiful ppl in Hollywood, herself included, he may have confided in her about one sided sexual encounters with men etc) But I just don't give a lot of weight to her simply saying "Jimmy" Those who knew him longer and better say no.

That being said, here's a rare candid of him driving his Porsche in Studio City the year he died. If you change the background he looks incredibly contemporary no??
