I know him as the Cheerleader’s not gay/gay best friend from Heroes lol
yes, but years before that, in the 90s, there was a tv series based on the Honey I shrunk the kids movie and he played the nerd son... the character wasn't gay (as he was a kid), but he pinged my own prepubescent gaydar harder than all the bells in a dozen churches rung together...

He also played “the gay kid” is an episode of Grosse Pointe. It was a show that lasted one season on the WB. He played a kid who was a fan of one of the characters. The joke was that the character thought it was a female who was the fan, but it turned out to be a young little boy. Very early 2000s humor.

It was apparent since he was a kid that he was queer/had femme mannerisms and expressions. I’m guessing that’s why he and his team were obsessed with his character on Heroes not being “gay”. He wanted to prove he could come off convincingly “straight” and “macho” for his career. He was also a teen/in his early 20s and probably dealing with typical insecurities and maybe fluidity, confusions, not understanding the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum.
