Tom holland

the movie is doing well only because tom's in it and the pr department was smart enough to plaster all over the internet that he's shirtless a lot in the movie.
the interest in the movie skyrocketed once those shirtless scenes, like the working out one, were used for promo

So guys, I went delving very very deep into tumblr & forums a couple of weeks ago; lol, and I found these, however I’ve been debating whether to share them as I’m unsure of their authenticity. But I’ve been staring at them for weeks and I just need a second opinion. It said that these were taken from Tom Holland’s private snapchat.

I mean, that's part of it, but also it's February, there's nothing much new in theaters, a lot of COVID restrictions are lifting in various places, and people want to see *something.*

The movie is also doing well because the hilarious banter between Mark & Tom in interviews helps sell the movie. The “massages gun” story pretty much went viral because it was so funny. I would say a good chunk of the gay community purchased tickets just simply to see Tom alone and because the “gay” story lol. But also, most people can agree that Tom is a good actor, so he’s got that also going for him.

It's a shame that such a good actor is used as eye candy/wasted in bad movies like chaos walking.

i mean, it's mostly his fault. he's the one accepting the projects. he seems to just hear a pitch and take it.
the fact he told the story that amy pascal told him about a fred astaire biopic and tom said yes without even looking at the script, just tells me he'll just accepts projects based on the pitch he's given, and without giving the project a proper look before accepting it. as a result, he ends up working in crappy movies, that only do reasonably well because he's managed to create a supportive fanbase that'll go watch his movies regardless of what they are

Yeah it is mostly his fault but it is a shame about the wasted potential
