I've used it twice. Once to report an underage poster (or more precisely a poster who declared himself 18 that day but had been a member with nudes up for several months).

The other time was to report what I thought was a particularly egregious post from someone who I don't believe was a troll (I just put trolls on ignore once they cease to amuse me) - rather I think s/he was a legitimate, full blown asshole.

In the case of the underage report I noticed the user was banned within 15 minutes and considered that my good deed for the day.

That being said, I have reported posts not so much to call attention to trolls, but to highlight the return of banned members, such as:

Radiant = Italian978/1 = AndyA =andy112311

Dag, how do you guys peep out the guys who have multiple accounts or try and come back as someone else?

I would like it to show you who reported your post and why.

i report any and all posts that i think have pedo leanings.
i'd report someone posting threats or personal details.
ordinary bickering i ignore.
we're adults. we argue sometimes. not a big deal.

Well, it depends how you "read" the forum. I sometimes place an imaginary voice with a poster's posts. Over time, if someone is being themselves, they develop a voice that can be distinctive. When you do this, you can "hear" someone typing, even under a different name.

I am not saying I pay this attention to every poster, because I can't and don't. At the same time, certain posters voices ring out louder than others.

As for Andy/Radiant/Italian--I am sure he is back here again, even now--trying harder and harder to hide.

I have never used the Report Post button, but I think maybe I should start. I wonder, if more people used it would it help cut back on the abusiveness? Or should we only use it rarely?
I use it most to report off topic posts, usually ones that contain off-topic pictures or are just posted in the wrong forum. For example, if someone posted dick pic in this particular thread, I'd report it as being off topic.
