those are well known porn movies with well known pornstars
wonder how it could be legal
there are more and more of these types of blogs popping up everyday...
most of these films tend to be over a year or two old, and so their chances of really selling alot more are small, since all distributors already have all their copies, so presumably, the companies realize that if they only sell say 500-1000 DVD's of a particular title to a distributor, that is about the limit of what they can make off that film...wheras if they are allowed to be downloaded free, by a group of blogs etc. who they have granted rights to (as you can see by all the sponsoring sites listed) the potential download number are limitless, and obviously with traffic and click throughs generating ad fees etc. for the site, the distributor can share in all those clicks from a variety of sites...
after all...if you sell only 500 copies of a DVD, that really is only about 5000 dollars worth of wholesale cash back to the distributor...which is not a whole lot in the grand scheme of things...after paying say 5 actors and actresses, the profit margin is pretty small...so they need to find other ways to make a profit...some receive a portion from VOD sites, but a "free download" site like this one, might literally attract 100,000 downloaders per free DVD looking for free porn...
since most of those users do not have rapidshare accounts, they are using the free service, so think of how many clicks, and how much time will be spent going to rapidshare, then back to the site, or viewing the site etc...
if 100,000 people download one video free, think of all the clicks they have to go through...several clicks to find a vid they like, then, they have usually five scenes per movie, each with 2 separate download files on rapidshare...so that is 10 separate clicks in one film, just to get to rapidshare to download, then, you have to do the typical rapidshare 2 click system...
so in order to download that whole free film, a user, getting it free for themselves, is actually giving about say 35 clicks to a pair of sites to get that whole video...
if 100,000 people download that video (which is based on how fast links spread on the internet, so 100k people downloading is nothing for a free high end DVD) you are talking about 3.5 million clicks alone for just one of those DVD's...
now I am not sure how ad rates for page views/ and click through and all that stuff completely works, but if you receive even 1/8th of a cent for a click in terms of $ value, you are looking at $4,500 dollars in revenue per video, spread between the site, rapidshare, and most importantly, the distributor...
it certainly seems a good extra revenue stream, though my numbers are highly speculative...
(but based on looking at a video on Zshare or mega etc, you can see many have tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands of downloads)
