I was being sardonic. I was paraphrasing many similar nonsensical perspectives on this site but I am not necessarily putting you in that camp. My more level-head advice to you is to approach him. Tell him you find him attractive, tell him you are gay and ask him if he would like to have coffee (or lunch or dinner, et. al.) on some specific day at some specific time.
