Of course lint doesn't come from the water supply...then again if it's necessary to have a filter separating you from your publicly supplied water JA, maybe you are right in being paranoid. Thank goodness Sears is looking out for you...conspiracy theories aside of course... NJQT...I think you know you did fine and in the future google or wikipedia will give u a much more succinct answer to these type of questions, but maybe not as varied and interesting as you'll find here. But I think you knew that too...:biggrin1:
Stretch,
No, it's well water. And it tastes and smells like sulfer. My biggest beef was with how the coffee tasted. Thank you Sears for looking out for me.
That's it, babe. I'm reporting all you motherfuckers to Big Dirigible's Most Important Site On The Web. They need something to talk about over there, and LPSG moderator conspiracy theories are just the thing. They'll open up a can of zeitgeist on your ass.
reverse osmosis is a way to seperate solvents and solutes. it uses pressure to push a solvent through a membrane that stores the solute on one side and the solvent on the other...
A reverse osmosis unit from Costco is probably the most reasonable/easy to find, just remember that filters will need to be replaced now and then, they aren't cheap nor super expensive and they don't produce great amounts of water quickly.
Although the water in my area is good it does smell like chlorine at times so I have a reverse osmosis gizmo under the kitchen sink and it works OK. Not a huge difference in taste but its greener than buying bottled water. Changing the filters are a pain in the ass. If I did it again I'd get the cannister cartridge model.
I don't know the for why on the reverse thrombosis part, but lint originates between the ears of those on Florida school boards who believe in creationism and refuse to allow evolution to be taught in public, tax-funded schools. I saw it on TV, so it must be true. ;-)
