So I'm half awake, a little hung over, and stop at the match that was just on ... I can honestly say I didn't know Barry Bonds played tennis.

Hell I'd bang em' both. Especially Venus-those legs.......I got up early just to watch it. Was rather anti-climactic.

But I'm waiting for Nadal/Federer. Last time I had Federer in the French Open but he looked terrible against Nadal. And people are actuallly saying he could be the greatest of all time? He'll be lucky to get a set off of Nadal in the Wimbledon Finals.

But personally , I like the clay court better.

Serena is one of the sexiest women on the planet. Venus is up there too, but god, serena is such a fucking lady! The way she raises her arms up after she wins a match to the crowd...ugh I would breed with her in a second.

I hope Roger Federer wins.

I like Rafael NAdal alot, he is a great player, but Federer is my favorite.

I am hoping Roger can hold off Nadal for another year or two...

let's not forget that this is Roger's part of the season, the clay court season is Rafa's, but then the short grass court season through the US Open is Roger's time historically.

Roger is going to be very motivated after losing the French so badly. He has not dropped a set at Wimbledon this year, he has won a record 65 straight matches on Grass, he can make it a sixth straight Wimbledon with a win, and if he wins this and the US Open, he ties Pete Sampras for all time Slam wins.

Roger has never lost a grand slam final anyplace other than at the French to NAdal (0-3) he is 12-0 in all others.

He will be very motivated to prove that after having Mono, this whole spring has been just a blip.

Also, Rafa looked out of sorts yesterday while Roger has cruised.

If i wasn't such a Federer fan, I'd be cheering for Nadal though.

one thing i am glad about is Djokovic is not there...I hate him.

It was a great match...Roger just made too many silly unforced errors, and Nadal played great.

At least it is someone likeable, since Nadal is a great player...

Thank heavens it is not Djokovic.

Roger is still the best.

Roger had his chances, but ultimately made the kind of errors he never used to make.

I guess there really is a "changing of the guard". I think I'm ready to say that Nadal is definitively better than Federer. Not only did he beat Federer twice this year in teh finals of a major , but he skinned his ass in Paris and took him to the limit just now in Wimbledon.

Rafa is a great player...when he wins 12 Grand Slams, then he will tie Federer at being the best.

It was certainly great...should i not be sad when my favorite player loses?

As for the best match i have seen in my life, it was very close to Borg- McEnroe at Wimbledon.

well, there were two rain delays...that is why it lasted forever as well.

You need to watch more tennis to say that Nadal is "definitively" better than Federer.

Federer has for the years 2004-2007 been the most dominant player in tennis history.

Nadal is a tremendous player and will be for many years to come. But if you have not watched Federer at all before this year, you don't really have any perspective on it.

I agree...if Federer was not around, NAdal would clearly have won Wimbledon in 2006 and 2007.

(Nadal still needs to improve on hard courts, as he has not done so there yet)


As for you being young, you have to realize, Borg was my favorite when i was a young player...he was a global icon,...me and all my tennis playing friends who were 7 years of age or so, ALL wore headbands, all grew our hair longer, all had Donnay wood rackets...he was tremendous.

Nadal is the closest thing i have seen to Borg since then...he really his the heir to Borg...they are so similar in style.

If you ever have the chance to get on video.DVD the Borg- McEnroe wimbledon, it is well worth it. Utterly epic.


as for McEnroe choking up, i did not see it, because i had turned it off since i did not want to see Roger vanquished as i'd be sad.

Ultimately what cost Roger were the unforced errors...which are highly uncharacteristic of him, especially on grass.

He had 52 unforced errors, Rafa had 27.

Rafa's serve is the weakest part of his game, and in the past, when Roger did not make errors, he was able to break Rafa's serve a bit more easily. Federer had 13 break point conversion chances today, and only won 1. That is not good enough for him against a beast like Nadal.

Ironically, the total points for the match looked like this:
NAdal 209
Federer 204

so five points was the difference...

and 52 errors by Roger is just out of character.

He has been out of sorts ever since the end of 2007 or so, and then getting mono at the Australian Open and this whole spring have really taken alot out of him.

In 2004- through the beginning of 2007, he was devastating.
