Sneaky. Van Bronckhorst learnt how to shoot that ball at long range.

I thought that the second goal was offside, the third was a gem. Though having said that I wasn't going to sympathise with Uruguay because of Suarez, they may feel a little aggrieved with a much depleted team.

I would be interested to know who the locals will be supporting.
 
Holland-Spain

Spain's been totally superior to Germany. But they've still got problems to break the wall that every team, also german, build up around the goalkeeper.

I'm sorry for the germans but I'm glad for the pretty and the beauty of Spain's football.

Logic says that Spain should win the cup. Who knows.

Well, Spain were the favorites going into the Cup. Clearly the better passing team today. Germany had some terrible substitutes, namely Boateng. He was so far off his mark every time the ball came to his side. Terrible play from the start for him. I don't think Germany would have won even if they had all their key players but we will never know.

Spain should win if they stick to their gameplan. Netherlands were on the easy side of the bracket. Germany, Spain, Argentina and Portugal each would have beaten Netherlands. I dislike their cheap play to get foul calls for free kicks. I doubt they would have gotten that far without the calls.
 
mastur, after seeing the control that spain had over the ball, the way they were a united front, your suspicion that spain will win might be right!!

I think the blame was in the Löw's gameplan. Germany played as Suisse, Chile, Portugal and Paraguay did: concentrating people around the goalkeeper and waiting for a chance to counter-attacking. This plan worked to Switzerland, they won.

Honduras was the only team trying to play openly and they could have taken 4 or 5.

Germany put lines forward after Spain's gol, leaving open rooms and then I saw nearer the spanish second than the german's first.

Anyway, thanks for the german's fair play, it was a good match.

About Holland, their best are forward players, specially Arjen Robben. They are damn fast. So I hope they'll try to play openly, not closed around the goalkeeper.
