There have been reports on many celeb news sites. When he went to rehab back in the spring his people said it was for alcohol .. but now it's coming out that it was actually for cocaine abuse.

Regardless .. he is hot as hell. He has definitely lost his teen star image, and I feel like he did it purely on talent. Even if he was addicted to coke, it was never obvious to the fans, he continued to act professionally in public, and at his worst, held it together. I also love that he doesn't shave his chest .. I love a hairy chest.
 
It's not the drugs that make him hotter at all. It's the disappearance of the unattainable almost inhuman squeaky clean image and the fact the he is "normal" and prone to the same thoughts, feelings and fantasies as the rest of us. Hollywood projects unrealistic expectations of its stars and of other people
 
Just goes to show you, that the kid next door has problems too. It is too bad. I hope he can get past his weaknesses. He seems like a good kid. I enjoy his acting.

Hollywood gossip blogs have been talking about his drug probs for a long time, but nothing stuck because of his clean-cut image. Efron blamed his co-star in At Any Price, Dennis Quaid, with hooking him up...apparently Quaid took him (and his nose and Lord knows whatever other body parts) under his wing but he had been using (coke, pot, molly) prior to that. Efron's been quoted by friends as saying Quaid "ruined his entire fucking life."

Hopefully in the recovery process he'll learn to take responsibility for his own actions. You can rattle off names of performers who found fame early in life and whose personal lives began to fall apart once they were on their own. In many ways it's understandable but most of us don't want it to end tragically as it has for so many others.

Frankly, I wish him well in his recovery--he's a talented (and hot) guy.

Yea same here. He seems like a genuine nice guy. He did a Q&A with his co-stars for his new movie "That Awkward Moment" and you really can tell he is a genuinely good guy that got mixed in with the wrong crowd somewhere along the way.
