The devil is in the details. The models have a hard time with subtleties. Things like eyes, fingers (it has a reeeeally hard time with thumbs), toes, genitals, hairlines, ears, etc. It understands proportions to a degree and basic shape, but there's a lot of needed "inpainting" to correct for anatomical issues.

The models are improving, the latest SDXL 1.0 can reproduce things more accurately.

Of course NSFW content is in demand but the models are only trained by hobbysists for the most part, so that's more hit or miss on the quality you can achieve. Training a data set is really slow and can chew up GPU memory. And you likely don't want to run a gaming card 24-7 at 100% or it will go beyond the thermal envelope and you'll need a new one.

Professional graphics like a Quadro or A100, etc, are designed to do these tasks constantly, but these cards are very expensive.

I am totally new to AI image generation and wonder whether I can actually get into it. But I saw a few posts on Twitter (oops, yes) by AI Boys and really liked what I saw. I messed around with Unstable Diffusion, but the images were not particularly realistic (penises were totally weird, more like aliens). Now: Would it be better to sue Stable Diffusion instead or perhaps Midjourney. And is it even worth bothering on a MackBook Pro 2019 with just 2.4 GhZ 8-Core Intel Core i9 / AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB / 32 GB 2667 MhZ DDR4? Any suggestions welcome
