My first summer out of high school, I worked as a guide at a wilderness camp.

The other employees at the camp introduced me to casual nudism. Whenever we had days off with no guests around, nobody wore clothes. We ate, slept, swam, did chores, and wrote letters home... all nude.

Very comfortable to be nude anywhere, in front of anyone. I think it is very natural to be nude with close male friends. I was brought up a naturist in The Netherlands and spent my formative years naked with family and friends, definitely left me with no inhibitions, this is normal in Europe

I blame the British....if they hadn't kicked out the blue-nosed, ultra conservative Puritans in the first place, the US might have been founded by a more reasonable group....like, the criminals who founded Australia--you know, a better class of people..:biggrin1:

I think the biggest hangups that people have about nudity is that nudity equals sex. And for most people that's what it is.

I think people should stop thinking about sex when being nude. A human body is a human body...if it's unclothed don't gawk at it. I have no problem with nudity or being nude around other people unless I'm being made into a spectacle or object of your sexual desire. And it's pretty easy to read based on another's actions how bad they want you. I'd get uncomfortable and leave. Not becausue of uncomfortable in my own sexuality. I know who I am and what I am. I'm more uncomfortable with your sexuality. It's like why advertise something that's not for sale? I don't want to get anybody's hopes up in such a situation...

Now in a situation where everybody is cool and acting like a regular situation and being nude? I'm totally cool with that. I think that's what facinates me about nudist camps.

i'm very comfortable being nude around other men in certain settings (college fraternity--lots of nude guys). locker rooms. taking a steam. late night skinny dip in the summer. but i've never been a nude lounger at home, by myself or with friends. if i'm naked on the furniture i'm fucking--otherwise i stay clothed!

Come on you guys....all this gay talk! There are only a few things that make you gay....and hanging out naked or nude with your buds is NOT one of them. I have been very lucky in my life, traveling around the world and meeting some great friends. In many countries and situations, being naked with my buddies is encouraged and I find it so relaxing and comfortable. No one is trying to have sex, or any of that.....just being guys and sometimes girls as well.
What the hell is the big issue here??? Are you guys so unsure of your sexuality that being naked in front of one of your buddies would push you over the edge and you would all of a sudden have a desire to suck cock? There are some real assholes in this group.
Men enjoy being nude with other men.......history has shown it time and time again. All over the world in saunas, hot springs, work out areas, hamams and piscina's.....I only find it to be an issue here in the US. I believe it has quite a bit to do with the lack of self esteem and poor education of the young men and women of the last 20 years. It's a sad situation that nude swimming at the YMCA and men's nights at sauna are in the past. Many of the health clubs are now only providing co-ed saunas and steam rooms. The male bonding that took place is now replaced by guys who are scared and insecure about themselves. Such a pity. If you ask me, not being able to hang naked with your male friends is what makes you gay!

Hmmm... never done it, but I think it could be very relaxing. Growing up as an only child in a conservative family where sex was never discussed - even to this day - the only time I ever saw anybody naked was the odd occasion when I would walk up on my dad peeing in the yard. Needless to say, I grew up with a certain amout of anxiety about nudity, and I find going against that upbringing very liberating.

In college I had a conservative and somewhat prudish roommate, and we had separate bathrooms so we never had to play the schedule game with the shower or anything. I probably would have been open to it, but there was absolutely ZERO chance of it going over. The time he walked in on me masturbating in my room I thought his hair was going to fall out.

I've never had a receptive environment, but in the right setting I wouldn't think twice about it.

I've got a question for the group - not sure if this is the appropriate location for it or not, so if it isn't, my appologies.

I'm just curious - do any of you enjoy relaxing nude or say, in your underwear or other shorts with your friends? This is for everyone - straight/gay/bi - I'm intersted in some perspectives.

Myself - I enjoy it - say after working out, sitting in the steam room or the whirlpool without anything on. Most of my friends enjoy doing this as well - no one seems to have any hangups about the nudity.

Likewise, if we're at someone's house watching the game or a movie or something - a lot of times we'll end up throwing on some shorts or boxers and hang out that way. It's just much more comfortable. Half of my friends are single, others are married. Could be becuase some of us are friends from the dorms in college that we're used to seeing each other that way (btw - we're in our 30's now)?

(And yes - the occassional boners happen but we just rib the guy about it - no hanky panky involved. lol)

Just wondering what everyone else does with their friends - is hanging out nude or w/very little clothing something others do? If so - where at?

I haven't in a long while but used to as a teen and now in a steam room sometimes. When growing up I went skinny dipping with my friends a lot and thought nothing of it. We were quite comfortable.

Saturday night I camped at a hot springs with three guy friends. I was nude much of the time. There are several places to soak spaced over a mile of canyon. If you want to explore and don't want to be carrying around or wearing wet clothing it's easiest if you don't wear any.

One friend would usually take off and put his clothing back on between each pool. One guy wore his board shorts like you would at a public pool. Even getting into his sleeping bag he pulled his wet shorts off inside his bag. My best friend used a sarong with his balls hanging below half the time. I wore my underwear for awhile just so as to assess how those other two would behave. Never been nude around either of them. But I don't like wet underwear, so I pulled them off as soon as we got in the water.

A good time was had by all. Brightest moon I've ever seen.

Each to his own apparently. Where there is hot water I'd rather be nude as it is simpler, but I often watch what others do first. Unless it is too cold or there are (clothed) families around I usually end up butt ass nekkid (in sandals).

As a nudist I am comfortable around other nude men. The crucial sticking point is attitude and motivation behind male/male nudism. I play water volleyball and tennis in the buff with other men at nudist resorts.

For me, I would start to get a little uncomfortable if a guy starts sounding like actor Peter Graves:

I live to far from the beach now. But yrs ago... I was an avid surfer. I use to go to a beach called Blacks beach. Near it is a beach called Del Mar beach. Often we would go to both. I even surfed at times in the nude. Mixed friends (guys or gals) or a few guys. We were all open and felt relaxed about our and others nudity. Blacks beach had a small area for gays. It was cool, no one bothered anyone. That was many yrs ago. Now blacks beach is mostly gay, dirty condoms around and we have seen old rusty needles in the sand. Maybe it's cleaned up. It was a special beach for many people. Difficult to get too... so the average person didn't go. Same as the part of Del Mar where the surfers went. I have been with buds during my military days...laying naked in the sun. It was cool. With open showers in the military etc. we were use to each others nudity anyway.

You hit Black's Beach right on the head. Black's used to be eccentric and fun, but everyone knew their boundaries and never encroached upon anyone's personal space or violated privacy. That has completely changed. My wife refuses to go down because of all the gawkers and now I refuse to go there because of an incident this past May where a pervert with a concealed videotaped me and put it on a well known nudist website.

It's a shame because Black's Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches one will ever find: Hang gilders leaping off dramatic 300 foot sedimentary cliff's overlooking the wide sandy beach, the La Jolla shoreline to the south and the gentle breaking surf of the cool Pacific waters in the summer months. It was a wonderful place.

i have no problem being naked infront of others both men and women. i ve seen all my buddies naked and they have seen me too. My ex girlfriend and i used to go to nudist camp all the time and my buddies with their gf so we would all be naked and talk-eat-sleep-play volleyball with our dick hanging lol
