I agree. The only time you will hear a black guy refer to himself as a "BBC" is in mainstream porn which is usually produced for non black audiences and the producers/directors are also non black. The intention is to appeal to those erotic fantasies of the big black brute ravaging a frail submissive white female. We get that much. Another instance where you might see a black male calling himself a "BBC" is on dating apps and those are men seeking the attention of females/males that are not black. Intraculturally we don't use that acronym and it might get you a strange look if you did. The times I've been called that, I didn't particularly like it. I can agree that it is something that is starting to happen with younger generations but their grasp of the historical context behind all of it isn't really there. Pop culture has a funny way of sharing the good and the bad amongst different groups. Black Americans are unique in our ability to reclaim a once negative term and turning it into something else that is acceptable for only us to use (i.e. the term "nigga" without the hard er). It's also nuanced in that black women are not using that term as a means of dehumanizing or fetishizing black men as nothing but a phallus. Black women have a genuine love and desire for black men that is not the same that those that fetishize black men do. In other words, it's not rooted in racism the way it is with others who get into the race play aspect of it.
