Hello ladies,

I've recently grown a beard, and I was wondering what the general consensus was for women regarding facial hair, especially a full beard. I keep hearing that women don't like beards and this and that, but I wanted to get the opinions of the hotties of LPSG. :biggrin1:

So, beards: good or bad?

At one point I was fairly neutral on beards as long as they weren't wild mountain men type beards, but since seeing an acquaintance pick something out of his beard and look at it then announce 'oh it's fish' whilst knowing that he hadn't eaten fish that day I sort of went off them :)

Dear God... At this point, I feel the need to mention that when I grow a beard, I always keep it trimmed and clean.

I'm not a hippy. :biggrin1:

I wish there were an "It depends!" option. I don't PREFER beards, but I think they look good on the right guy. I generally prefer goatees.

My poll is specifically about beards, not other kinds of facial hair.

Do men shampoo beards or wash them with whatever they wash their face with?

I personally shampoo my beard. I'd be interested to read what other bearded guys do.

i heard girls do not like the scratchy feeling whilst performing oral.
so i would guess they are frowned on.

i grew out mine and my girl dug how i looked more burly but
did not like it's sensations as much as clean-shaven.

Trimmed beards are VERY sexy. However, the "mountain man" look doesn't do it for me. I'm always wondering if leftover food is hanging around....

Yup. I have a short beard (but dark hair, so it looks more like a medium length beard). I work some shampoo into it when I wash my hair (and I wash my face at the sink anyways each morning as well anyways).

I do occasionally get the odd crumb, so just make sure to check the mirror after lunch etc and you'll be fine.

I have sensitive skin, used to nick the holy hell out of my face trying to shave every day for work. Beard is so much nicer.

It's only pokey a day or two after I trim it up with an electric (to keep it neat), and I only do that every couple of weeks. I use a razor about twice a week to keep a well-defined edge, but it's a pretty small area I'm shaving and not near my mouth (neck / cheeks).

That's where I started :) Had a goatee for about a year, and then went for broke and grew a full beard. It's a lot easier maintenance and easier on my skin so I stuck with it.

What was really funny is that within a few months after growing my beard, all the other guys in my department grew one as well. We looked like a band of lumberjacks turned engineers.

i don't like beards all that much-- but i've gotten used to them on some men and they look quite striking on the right person. in general, though, i like men clean shaven.

all about beards: beard styles - just for reference.

I don't have a preference for or against. I want lips accesible for kissing and I want expressions to show through, but beyond that so long as it suits him it doesn't matter. If I have any leanings I would go with clean shaven only because there is more flesh exposed to kiss and touch.

I say this for beards specifically. A moustache with no other facial hair just doesn't do it for me and I can't explain why. Just no.

I friggin' hate my facial hair! I would shave every day if I could ,but because I get in-grown hairs I always need to grow mine out for at least a week to avoid irritation.

Not to mention when I am clean shaven I look almost 6 years younger.
