Cat Calling

One time I was walking down the street and some guy yelled out his window, "Nice ass!" and then promptly hit the curb and lost a hubcap.

Now thats dedication. I use to think that that was the only way cat calls actually worked. Personal experience proved otherwise. I can't even begin to tell you ladies what i've heard dudes say and how magically that crap seemed to work.

Then again, those were the early years. Whenever i see it now i just feel bad for the guy. The normal reaction from the women seemed to range between complete and utter disregard to theres a fly around me but i don't feel like killing it cause "ain't nobody got time fo dat".

For a man to become visible to society, he either needs a great face, to get a good muscular physique, have a good full head of hair and good skin, or to be seen as cool or popular, or to have a lot of money and show it off.

Did you just suggest that for a man to stand out from the crowd, he needs to stand out from the crowd?

That, my evil twin, is very profound!

For a women to stand out from a crowd, she just needs to exist, maybe dress slutty if she is in competition with other females.

Also nice avi, why don't you put up MrClean or DrPhil as baldies look more like you.

Oh please. I've been cat called in jeans and a t-shirt. Not the least bit slutty.

I just say 'you look very attractive' and move on. It seems to always draw at least a smile. And of course, I'm harmless.

I walked into Panera one day in khakis and white long sleeved beach shirt. A really attractive young woman said 'you look like you came off a page in GQ'. Now I'm 60+, and that was really a boost. She winked at me as she left. I coasted on that for the rest of the day. I think compliments are a kindness, but only when done politely.

People still do this? Huh - maybe I live in a quite part of the world.

I was thinking the same. I've seen it only done in movies. I have never seen it done in real life or known any woman that has had it done to them or any dude that has done it.

Outlawed here, you can be accused of sexual harrasment.

When I worked in construction we always discouraged cat calling. It shows you are ignorant. Not only that, but we usually worked in residential neighborhoods, so we would see the same housewives walk by many times. We wanted to encourage them to walk by the job site, because it's nice to look at women during the day. We certainly wouldn't want them to avoid us.

I would guess that you only know ugly women, or you haven't actually asked them if anyone has ever cat-called them.

I have literally been called like a cat, with hisses and smoochie sounds in the suburbs. I used to get a lot of "skeeeeyu" sounds in ghetto areas, but block-huggers seem to know a woman like me won't even try to figure out where that sound is coming from. Now I mostly hear, "Shorty, wait up!" or "Shorty, get your fine ass over here!" If the dude catches up to me, there is a 50% chance he will hit on me like a normal, reasonable person, and a 50% chance he has something "profound" to say about my body. Once, walking along a main road in a rural area, a truck slowed down, and the passenger held a shoe out the window. He asked my companion and I if we ladies knew what a shoe that big meant. I said, "Big, stinky feet! Good Lord, if the shoe fits, please put it back on!" That took the wind out of his sails. How dare he approach us dick first! We were not prostitutes. We just didn't have a ride into town.

My dumpiest friend has had weird things shouted at her by inappropriate men. I travel a lot. I doubt there is one American woman who has never been cat called and who isn't a shut-in.

I don't have that problem most of the time. I always have the look of FUCK YOU on my face and men rarely approach me. I also don't wear clothes that suggest I'm trying to be looked at. If I do happen to have something more revealing on and I catch a guy staring I don't mind. I'm the one wearing a low cut top showing off my tits anyway right?? But as far as the types of 'cat calls' you listed, that just never happens to me. I'm pretty fuckin hott too. I know I would get cat called/hit on much more if I presented myself the way most women do. Most women wear clothes they think look good and are usually trying to look good in general. I wear jeans and t-shirts, don't style my hair, and hardly EVER wear make-up. I just look straight ahead if I'm walking down the street or through a crowded area, I keep my Dom attitude on constantly just so people know: I DO NOT WANT TO FUCKIN TALK TO YOU, and if I want to talk to someone, I approach them. Believe it or not, if you project an attitude of "don't fucking disrespect me" it makes an impact on how people treat you. Not 100% of course, but like I said... I don't have a problem with 'cat calls' no matter where I am.
