Well, Phil, on average, most people first have sex with other people that they have yet to have any deep bond with. It is part of exploring where it might go.
You make it out to sound like anyone using CraigsList to meet people are total unconscious sluts... In the last ten years, I met a total of six men from it, and only had totally safe sex, (mutual masturbation) with one... And, it was really fun!
Well… that's a lot different picture than you painted in your post about having THREE hookups in ONE Trip. ( even tho only one resulted in any sexual activity… you were seeking potential sexual activity in each case )
In point of fact, I find modern "hookup" culture… the notion of having casual sex with people you have only just met… or with people with whom you have no actual interest… is pretty much a desperate and slutty kind of human disconnect from what makes sex truly great.
I think its an outgrowth of people spending far too much time in isolation communicating thru texts, vines, tweets, and the like… rather than actual face to face interaction.
People are engaging in sex with other people as if they were playing a video game on their iPhone. Like getting a dick in you is a gold coin worth 600 points… and then its on your way to the next challenge.
But then, I already admitted that I am an old timer who was raised with a different idea of the role of sexual intimacy in human interactions…
I admit I may be hopelessly out of date… and that sex is on its way to becoming a voyeuristic self indulgence in which sexual partners play no more role in your life than the barrista at your local coffee bar.
Seems like a world of folks who are amateurs at evoking the real passions in each others' bodies that only comes of long experience and deep emotional connection… but then, folks seem to be happy eating fast food, too.
