Also in that same movie, Dolph's co-star, Brandon Lee, says of Dolph after seeing emerge from a hot tub "you have the biggest dick I have ever seen." Not likely that line would have been scripted if there were not some truth to the rumor.

Scripts are normally finalised before casting begins. That line was likely there before they knew that Dolph would be playing that role.
