I just watched the video and I'm annoyed by him. I'm super glad for his onlyfans, expressing himself however he wants to and making money while using it however it suits him. What I'm not glad is his hypocrisy around YouTube whether that is about why he's not making videos (he didn't really uploaded videos lately) or the algorithm thing which has to do with commercial success (money and fame) which his onlyfans covers. Plus he did some really not interesting videos that were clearly what he liked not what would bring the views. Now blaming Mark for everything was pathetic because they both took advantage of each other to whatever extent to be able to succeed. He thought his video was deep but to me it was shallow af. If anything I feel like Ethan doesn't take responsibility and only claims that he does. We can't tell how much Mark is to blame we don't know either personally but Mark seems to loved him and I thought the same for Ethan. Wanting to make money is fine lying about it and presenting it as if you make this selfless artistic move is very annoying to me. Lastly either talk more openly about the issues with Mark or don't talk about them. This seems like an attempt to make people sympathize with him in order to gain onlyfans subscribers...

in the video he goes on to allude to mark's peer pressuring him etc etc.. boy, hes the ex that talks bad about the other. meanwhile, i have yet to hear one bad thing about ethan coming out of Mark's mouth. I use to enjoy both of their channel but since their breakup i havent been on either. lol

Neither one of them were particularly "exciting" the wholesome couple image they projected was the drawing point. Unless your ex was literally abusive, there's no reason to be publicly talking about them the way Ethan is.
Both of them essentially made a living off of those videos with mark, neither one has had an actual job otherwise right? I’m failing to see how he felt exploited anymore than I feel exploited having to go to work

Ethan confuses me, and I predict a very sad and lonely life for him. He seems to constantly be looking for someone to blame for his unhappiness (his family, Mark, LA, etc.) and doesn’t realize he’s the reason he’s so miserable. That goodbye video is extremely self indulgent, boring, and overall a bad look - a collection of thoughts he should have just written down in a journal and not shared with the entire world. He not only comes across as delusional and stupid, but like the villain in a relationship that we know to be mostly peaceful. It’s hard to wish happiness to someone who’s spewing hate whenever he can, but I hope he gets it together and proves me wrong. As is, he just seems like an asshole.
Don’t you think it’s very telling of Ethan’s character how he’s always speaking negatively about Mark, but Mark (to my knowledge), hasn’t once spoken negatively about Ethan or even put any blame on him?

What Mark and Ethan prove is if you have a "Boyfriend Channel" and you break up or refuse to grow with your audience to the point that your branding and content is Podcasts in Cozy Chill Pants and Stick Art Tattoos .... you're going to lose views - which makes you lose easy money from ads. Honestly, for what they do currently - the views they are getting is bigger than most creators that are still together. They had a solid 5 years of rolling in the algorithm and calling it like they saw it.
Youtube has shifted. Couples no longer drop it like it's hot to get views. They show you their tomato gardens and home renovations - or their children's live. Look at PJandThomas or TylerandTodd or ProbablyThis... everything is Homesteading. Mark is trying to bop into all that by looking at zillow with his youtube following. It's a little lazier than the other couples.. but he has that cushion.
I always thought he'd get into filmmaking/directing. He has so much talent for it. But now he's out in Indiana just watching the world turn.
Ethan is smart to move on to a new "creative" platform. But I fear it's not a good long-term endeavor. But by the time we figure all that out I think he'll just be a porn star with XxX's behind his username. And it makes sense. He has a lot of years left to make viable porn. He's just not going to validate that with the shame and lack of sensuality.
It's a rough economy. Two guys with degrees and thousands of subscribers can't make it without resorting to $200 just for your videos. I mean it. It's a rough economy. Do what you got to do. Ethan.

It’s a rough economy truly that this is only viable option. There is a recession looming too. I agree YouTube has changed. Most either made big money and dipped or started companies. I think they were naive back then thinking their couple brand would be relevant forever. It was very risky business move. I was surprised how they never got management. So much potential to make money. Mark was also going to HW parties. I think they were just living in the moment. It’s sad really. Their tale is cautionary one for younger gays who build a career on SM. Be business savvy and young gay relationships don’t last forever.
