Explain This To Me

hung_big: One thing I need to understand Chris, though, is if why you constantly say it's "over" and all she wants to do is get back in your pants why you insist on still having contact with her?

All I can say is this...

"Unrequitted Love is one of the most painful and hellish things you can suffer through"

Think about that and stop holding on to someone that won't be anything but egocentrical and ruin someone good, like yourself.

I've gone through the same thing myself.

I have a title for you, Borderline Personality Disorder. Look it up .Learn the facts. Run for you life.
[post=319577]Quoted post[/post]
I diagnosed BPD back when he first described the "It's over -- Don't leave me!" behavior. In fact, one book about BPD is called I Hate You, Don't Leave Me. BPD is marked by:

*Identity crisis, often contradictory self-perception
*Extreme dependency
*Self-injury or attempted suicide
*Self-destructive behavior, not including SI or attempted suicide
*At least two addictions
*Black-and-white worldview, tendency to blow things out of proportion
*Mood swings so intense they forget what any other mood is like
*Absence of psychosis

The classic treatment is lithium, one of many reasons BPD is confused with bipolar disorder.

I'll be honest and tactful about this one there Knight;

She's fucking with your mind, she's lying about who she's with, and she clearly really doesn't want a real reconciliation.

Drop her ,and don't look back there, bro. No one deserves that kind of treatment.

I know a girl with all those symptoms. Shes already been diagnosed as bipolar. I'll look into it.

Guys seriously,

I think you need to get YOURSELVES some help before offering it to others.

Db03, that made no sense. What's your point? They are trying to offer insight both from medical and personal experience to a friend of the board we all care about.

Seriously there, Db03, why would you even make such a callous remark like that? He asked for our help, and we in turn are answering.

I want everyone to look at these prophetic lyrics. Song? BORDERLINE by Madonna.! LOL!

Something in the way you love me won't let me be
I don't want to be your prisoner so baby won't you set me free
Stop playing with my heart
Finish what you start
When you make my love come down
If you want me let me know
Baby let it show
Honey don't you fool around

Just try to understand, I've given all I can,
'Cause you got the best of me

[Chorus:]

Borderline feels like I'm going to lose my mind
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

[repeat chorus again]

Keep on pushing me baby
Don't you know you drive me crazy
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

Something in your eyes is makin' such a fool of me
When you hold me in your arms you love me till I just can't see
But then you let me down, when I look around, baby you just can't be found
Stop driving me away, I just wanna stay,
There's something I just got to say

Just try to understand, I've given all I can,
'Cause you got the best of me

[chorus]

Keep on pushing me baby
Don't you know you drive me crazy
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

Look what your love has done to me
Come on baby set me free
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
You cause me so much pain, I think I'm going insane
What does it take to make you see?
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

LOL! Naughty, you are one observant lady. I never thought of that song referring to borderline personalities, but it sure fits.

Well, Jacinto feels like cutting his ears off every time he hears Madonna, so at least the SI part fits.

Complete lack of relevence to Knights story.
[post=320551]Quoted post[/post]

Read up man. If you read other threads, you would see why I posted that.

I told him not to take her back, because it's obviously unrequitted love (him loving her, but none in return). I also saw a post where he says she is trying to get back in his pants.

It's actually quite directly linked.

Thanks for your lack of input. I think you need to get yourself either ( a ) a pair of glasses or ( b ) take a comprehension test and educational course.

Thanks.

Okay thanks guys. I haven't spoken to her for about a week now. I don't intend to either. I sent her a link to a site on BPD lol. Her reply was:

u sed no contact so no contact it is. stop e-mailing me.

lol so yeah that's it now.

*Identity crisis, often contradictory self-perception
*Extreme dependency
*Self-injury or attempted suicide
*Self-destructive behavior, not including SI or attempted suicide
*At least two addictions
*Black-and-white worldview, tendency to blow things out of proportion
*Mood swings so intense they forget what any other mood is like
*Absence of psychosis

All those boxes get ticked lol. She was having moods and not even knowing how bad she was getting (swearing and shouting at her mum etc). Then one night she came out with some shit saying she has a condition (they don't even have a name for it lol) where she gets angry all the time and doesn't know she's doing it.

I think that was part of her attention seeking, along with her "I can't feel my legs" story.

End of story :D

The good news is that there is treatment for BPD. It's called emotionally unstable personality disorder in your neck of the woods. A therapist can probably help her better than we can. Several medications available.

@Chimera:
It's often confused with bipolar disorder. The big difference is that bipolar disorder only has one pair of poles, namely the speed of brain functions. Mood swings in borderlines typically involve vulnerability vs. invalidation, active passivity vs. apparent competence, and unremitting crises vs. inhibited grief. Also, the two disorders typically are diagnosed at different times. (Borderline personality disorder typically shows up some time in late childhood, while bipolar disorder shows up in early adulthood.) And I don't think there's a gender disparity in bipolar disorder; women are two to three times more likely to be borderline.

Thanks Jon.

Yeah one time she'd be fine and all happy then the next she'd be sayin 'I'm fat and ugly you should just take me home. You can do better than me.' Other time's she'll say she's really smart then next minute she's a stupid failure...stuff like that.

She's 16, so probably late childhood. I told her to get help. I'm leaving her alone now though. Thanks for the advice Jon, explains a lot.

Apparently we have different definitions of "child" and "adult". How long has she been like this? But BPD can express itself in early adulthood too. It's bad because it just means that whomever she ends up with, if she isn't on that medication, she'll have the potential to become quite violent.

I don't know how long she's been like this but I think for a while. I've known her personally only for about six months. She had a few things happen when she was younger that I think still bother her. Hopefully she'll sort herself out.

Gonna have to agree wholeheartedly with MZ on that one there, Naughty. But, as someone who has deep appreciation for classic 80's thanks for the lyrics in their entire content.
