News clearly says "reboot" we all know what is that right? That means fresh take on a franchise, It doesn't say "alternative universe superman" Nobody mentioned black Superman from the comics, nobody knows anything about him, expect 4 ppl who read comics. Rumor about black superman comes bc of the writer who is attached to the project, black guy, idk name,but seems he is very politically active and turned captain america comics and many others into political thing. You know that woke stuff which is very popular in America rn. That's why ppl say superman will be black now. There is no confirmation and nobody needs or wants to see black superman while henry never got a proper sequel. I think they want to reset everything with flashpoint and gonna keep just gadot and momoa, would get rid of everyone else,including Affleck, Cavill,Heard and so on...
I hope snyder cut gonna change things,we must pay for it,maybe even on multiple platforms. As it will be available worldwide on a several websites. I'm ready to put my coins in it and show wb what I want

P.S. Anyway I wish all the best to Henry and personally I'm not sad,I don't want to see him without Snyder ,I just love this duo and love how Snyder portrayed Superman,never cared about that character before and never will after cavill. I'm sure snyder cut will give some kind of "ending " to his arc and we all gonna be happy with it.
P.SS. snyder mentioned today at fanfest that movie ends with the potential continuation twist which blows us up. So rn everything is depending how successful movie will be,everyone and their aunts must support!

I don't want a black superman, at least not in the main universe either, and I'm black. I think it would be good if it's an alternative universe version that we'd get to see in Flashpoint that maybe features Nubia and Supergirl (who I'm not a fan of) too. They can't reboot this without giving Henry a second movie, it's dumb. I think what WB is doing to Ray, Zac, and Henry is awful, I just hope things will change after the 18th.
Oh yeah, Captain America, the famous previously apolitical comic book character. /s

this is better than the entire mcu right here. also notice how similar it is to infinity war and endgame? yet JL would have come out 6 months prior to IW. reduce the black superhero to barely even a supporting role. then 3 months later black Panther comes out.

it’s devastating. im not exageratting when i saw my jaw literally dropped when i read the synopsis of part 2. Darkseid invades earth and it eventually turns into the BvS Knightmare? sign me the fuck up!!
Is the vocal assumption that a black writer cannot write a white lead character? Did Ta Nehisi make a comment somewhere that he want's Superman to be black? Or is this just some weird fear that white history is being challenged again? He's spent significant time writing a white Captain America; I think he can manage a white Clark Kent...or not, and all will be okay in the world. That said, I love his work and I hope he's writing this next installment for Henry.
It wouldn’t be right of me to speak for everyone here, but I couldn’t care less what ethnicity Superman could be portrayed as since he is a literal alien. I’m just hoping Henry Cavill can at least get one movie where the studio executives don’t royally screw the plot like how they messed with Justice League. Admittedly, I am total Cavill fan so I may be totally biased

exactly. i’m obviously biased towards Cavill. he’s my favorite superman. reeve is alright but he’s the older generations Superman and those films are campy as hell today. brandon routh was alright as kal-el but he made a much better Bobby Long lol. sure superman can be black and ive already put together a nice list of who i’d like to see should someone of that race be cast in the role.
its just us fans (i don’t mean everyone but I have seen a few here in this thread) who want WB to do right by henry and give him the man of steel follow up he deserves. the overwhelmingly positive support he got the other day when this new film was announced speaks volumes

It's probably rooted in the fact that his work in essays has largely been concerned with black activism, the first three years of his work in comics was on various Black Panther titles, and he's never before indicated any interest in Superman as a character. That said, he wrote two years worth of Captain America comics featuring Steve Rogers, and if there's any Marvel character who would give a good indication of how the writer would handle Superman, it's Cap.
