Henry Cavill

James Gunn didn't confirm whether it was a rumor, but James Gunn tweeted this. It isn't comforting, nor is it...not. What it tells me is that MoS2 was in development and the creative team hadn't been chosen beforehand, and it's still unclear where it stands, but it isn't...not in development.

Okay...so let me make sure I'm following this correctly...

Henry gets the roll as Geralt. During the 1st season press, he mentions how he changes the character dialogue to make the character more verbose and intellectual to better match his image of the character.
Then he quits The Witcher 'cause suddenly the changes are too much, basically throwing them and their upcoming Witcher spinoff under the bus, making the announcement that he's back as Superman...an act I'd have to guess could hurt his relationship with Netflix and possibly hurt that Sherlock spinoff.
Side Note: Anyone who's read the books knows how much Lauren changed The Witcher. However, I doubt Henry would want a 100% faithful adaption, cause otherwise he'd be filming a sex or bath scene every other day :joy:

Meanwhile, crickets from DC. Gunn took over DC what was it, the day after Black Adam released, and never even acknowledged said movie was in theaters. The Rock and his ex wife are shouting Man of Steel 2 into an empty void. Gunn doesn't even want his cameo in Flash if it suggests a future movie.

And didn't Discovery buy Warner Bros? If the merger goes through in 2023, I'd have to imagine Warner Bros is looking to tighten up ship and not mindlessly spend.

Plus ad in that meeting with Marvel that went nowhere, I truly do not know what's going on in his career. And sad at it is, I doubt any studio is looking at him and saying yeah, that's our next Bond. I dunno, who knows...maybe this'll make Henry more open to nudity if it means landing an acting roll :joy::joy:

I love Henry. I love him as Supes, but don't NEED him in a franchise. I'd actually love it if he did more independent films like Night Hunter, but I don't know if that provides the pay check he's looking for.

I agree. He actually did a good job in Night Hunter, but of course it could never match the paycheck of a potential MOS 2 movie.

Discovery will tighten the purse strings at Warner Bros. and attempt to decrease the massive debt load as much as possible (it's alot). The end goal is to sell the company by 2025. The main candidate will be Comcast, who owns NBCUniversal. I work on Wall Street and the current talk is that they would actually spin it off and merge it with Warner Bros Discovery. It all makes strategic sense in the long run in order to better compete in the streaming world while also having big franchises (Batman, Jurassic Park, King Kong, etc.) under one roof.

Sex and nudity sells, if he wants a big blockbuster movie then he needs to get naked or show some skin...that would sell those movie tickets

I think he's too big physically and too handsome so that limit his roles
I mean, that gorgeous giant can't fit everywhere
It's been all about scifi and big franchises for him
He's become typecast

I think he'd be absolutely perfect as James Bond

I think we can all put this to rest about him being Bond. That ship has probably sailed. The producers have already stated the next Bond will be in their 30s and Henry will be 40 next year. So that probably already rules out Henry. Plus as you already pointed, he is physically too big. He will have to lose a significant amount of weight.

I don’t know why they took so long to replace Craig. His last movie should have been Spectre in 2015 and then it would have likely went to Cavill. I think he was producers top choice for some time. But too much time has passed. Bummer really, because I think he would’ve done a good job with the right Director.

DC has been a sinking ship for years and the witcher was never good to begin with not to mention he never truly delivered on the sex aspect that show is known for. I'd much rather he moves on to something else. Someone here suggested White Lotus but I feel like he's too vanilla for things like that, he's known for his body but lately seems like he refuses to show it off. I think he could be a great fit for House of the Dragon or maybe another Game of Thrones spin off.

The Witcher sucks, indeed.

What is clear is that Warner is the worst thing that could have happened to DC. That's how it goes, with the enemy at home.
Kevin Feige should buy DC, he is the man to save that universe and maybe make the saga of dc vs marvel bringing back all the heavy weights (Downey Jr, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen or Michael Fassbender, Chris Evans, Henry, Michael Keaton, etc)

I agree, he seems conservative about his body.
Uncomfortable maybe with the sexualization

I was watching Barbarian yesterday with Bill Skarsgård
I know he's swedish but he would be perfect
Producers are looking for Bill's looks not Henry's
I think those muscles gotta go mr. Cavill
