I remember when...

I had hair...on my head...and not on my back!

Hubby and I were laughing about stupid shit last night. I told him about this thread and his first take was:

Remember when our carpets matched our drapes?

His head hair is white; his pubes still be red! Everything in between is white.

I could get mine to match again if I shaved my head and pubes completely. Matchy matchy.

My remaining few head hairs are white; my beard is charcoal and silver; my chest hair is white; my belly hair is brown; my pubes still be brown too, with just a touch of gray.

I remember when we had real relationships. Real friends involve presence, not just social media...

People no longer ask what you did over the weekend because they already know from your FB feed.

I remember when you rang a phone number and a human answered.

Lots of nice human interactions 'optimized' away. Such is life...

Children's shows were not trippy as fuck and weird.

Must've been before my time...

I'm gonna be that asshole and reply to this thread with a song even though it's not a music thread. Yup.

I've even seen kid's tv from previous generations, like Andy Pandy and the Flower Pot Men in black and white, and yes, it's all pretty strange. How the hell is anyone expected to turn out normal?

LOL

This is all very true, there was plenty of weird stuff on when I was a kid: i was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, David the Gnome, the Power Rangers and Super Ted etc. But what I saw when I saw Cbeebies in the background was a bunch of weird trippy lights moving about and a few odd squeaky noises, it seemed like they kept the weirdness but left out the plot.

I remember when the internet took 5 minutes to load a page, and you heard this ridiculous sound every time you connected:

In college, we all discovered multiple episodes of "The Real Ghostbusters" featuring "The Boogey Man" (see below) traumatised most of us. The link only shows you what he looked like. The episodes, particularly when viewed through the eyes of a child, were terrifying.
