i've been criticized on this site (and probably always will be) but i'm seeing a pattern of what seems like the same people launching attacks any and everywhere they feel connected to some higher power and worthy to pass judgment and make personal attacks on other members. since the MODS seem to allow certain disrespectful practices to continue, i've found it useful to simply block people who make personal remarks about me (criticizing a post is one thing, calling someone a troll or douchebag is another). anyway i'm curious how many members have had no problems with receiving negative comments and how many find themselves hitting the ignore button fairly often so i just wanna know how many people are utilizing that precious, precious ignore button
Marley,
it is quite interesting that the individuals who send the mod board the most reports are also those who others report . We usually try to let you all work it out since that is what the board has told us time and again they wanted. One of the problems however is that members often are blind to their own behavior (Many times it has been a provoking agent) when reporting someone who has heard their call and come out with both guns blazing. SO we have the ignore function in place.
I have a word of advice for you. I mean this in all kindness, when you refer to "White people" as a group on the board in a negative fashion dont be surprised if you get back as much as you give. I am in NO WAY excusing borish or racist behavior in other members but the less we do on an individual basis to fuel issues the better off we will be. We can all be fed up at times , I know I have had my moments, but by in large we usually dont regret not saying something nasty.
As for myself, I dont have anyone on ignore. Even when things get the hottest here I just figure eventually it will sort itself out. I always have to option not to respond or even enter a thread that I feel might send my blood pressure rising. Most of the time when I speak my piece it is as a flawed member of the board not as a MODERATOR.
Oh, and the reason people keep calling you MEM is because we have another very high spiritied member who began his tenure here creating numerous provocative threads that caused a bit of a ruckus. So they cant help but pick up on the similarity.
