that's a shame. i was hoping he'd just have it on patreon sooner than on youtube. but i guess he needs something to draw people in to become patrons. if it's just the same content they're gonna get for free on youtube, they're just gonna wait

Sadly, it may be real. ASMR Spanglish recently got his instagram account hacked as well, resulting in his account having a photo and story of "His girlfriend's ass." It was pretty convincing, but eventually he got the matter fixed and addressed that it was not him.
With gmail accounts, its a bit more trickier. Once you don't know the password, going through the steps of verifying its you is oddly difficult. You can try to press forget password, but you have to submit a backup email to send the code, which doesn't always work. Sometimes, google will for some reason say they could not verify you and you'll basically lose the account forever. If he can successfully get his password changed, then everything will be back to normal. But if not, unless he has a backup of all his videos, he basically lost his entire channel.
He might not have even lost his password. I'm in the same situation, and I have the password, but the login is on 2-step authentication, and some else's phone number is tied to it. I can't login to my own account even though I have the password, and it hasn't been changed. Some jerk put their phone number on my account, and account recovery wants to send everything to that number. I'm screwed. Hopefully, easyASMR can somehow get his account back.
edit: I'm an idiot. He said they changed his password, too. Damn.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes too. For all different threads. Dont know why. Once I notice I hit unfollow then refollow again. Seems to reset it.
if you go too long without checking a thread it'll stop notifying you for it
