Jockstrap at gym

Wore a jockstrap to the gym today. Always do, but just on leg day. Frees up my thighs and keep my balls out of the way for squats and other exercises. I got one guy looking right at me in the locker room while i was weighing myself and wearing just them.

I wear jockstraps.

It's mostly only the occasional guy in changing rooms who sees them.

It's legitimate sportswear. Nobody can really say anything without seeming very strange...

I wear Lycra (spandex) tights or shorts but I don't think many people know or care what's underneath.

I find jocks easier than underwear. Less rucking up. Lighter / cooler.

Occasionally I will use them in play with sub men in a bdsm scene - pulling my worn, unwashed jock over his face. But only if he likes that kind of thing.

What's the big deal?

How do you feel about jockstraps at the gym?
Is it appropriate?
Is it too 'obvious'?
Are they practical and sensible?
Do they get you attention?
Yes, to are they appropriate, no is it too 'obvious' and yes, to are they practical and sensible ( that is what they were made for). As to " do they get you attention" in this day in age I would say that it is yes, because most people have lost sight of them as regular sports wear, to be used under your shorts at the gym. Back when I went to the gym I always wore a jock, it was the thing to do as part of your equipment to hold everything in place and for support.

Guys don't wear/own jockstraps anymore, and if they do, it's not what I would call an athletic supporter. :(

actually guys do wear and own jockstraps, and an athletic supporter is exactly what it is.

Myself and my teammates who I have pushed in that direction might be more prone to and fond of wearing them than the average guy, but we aren't the only ones I have seen wearing them, from high school age athletes to guys much older than us and out of college.

If I saw you in a jockstrap I would stare too!

Jockstraps were designed for sports so I can't see why it would be an issue? Perhaps more so outside of the states it's not the norm (deffo not here in the UK) but they're the most comfortable thing to work out in. You do you.

Are they appropriate? How could they not be? Sensible, yes. It's funny though, some guys dont think twice when they seeing a dude in one & others snap their neck as if they just saw a UFO. At one time, YMCA in Cincinnati, 50% were jocked up.

Honestly wish they would come back in fashion like that. Now it’s all compression shorts/tights. Feel like a missed out not growing up in the USA

Only wear them when I am super horny as I love being a bit voyer in the locker rooms. I am usually in a nervous horny state so not sure if people are looking as I rarely make eye contact

I don’t really understand the appeal of jockstraps beyond if you’re an exhibitionist and want to show off, or a voyeur who appreciates looking at other guys in them.

They just seem a bit redundant and uncomfortable as functional wear. Sure, they strap your jock up and keep it out of the way, but then, so do normal underwear, and they do so far more comfortably. The “strap” just seems like it would dig in, get twisted and move around underneath in unwanted directions.

I think that this depends on your body type and what you think of as "comfortable" I can find normal underwear that provides good support up front but they often slip into a wedgie when I'm active. I HATE having underwear up my crack! A jock seems to work good for me. If your jockstrap is uncomfortable you may need to try a different brand or style.
P.S. Have you ever tried wearing a jock?
