do you all have a favorite episode?

"Diversity Day," "Sexual Harassment" and "Product Recall" all made me rewind my DVR several times because I was laughing so hard. Also very fond of "Basketball" and "The Injury" - when Michael burned his foot on the George Foreman grill.

My single favorite lines from any episode are:

DWIGHT: I grew up on a farm. I have seen animals having sex in every position imaginable. Goat on chicken. Chicken on goat. Couple of chickens doing a goat, couple of pigs watching. Whoever did this watermark got it exactly right.

JAN: I am taking a calculated risk. What’s the upside? I overcome my nausea, fall deeply in love, babies, normalcy, no more self-loathing. What’s the downside? I date Michael Scott publicly and collapse on myself like a dying star.

thanks hotbt, your post cracked me up! i just watched "Product Recall" today. I love the cold open on that episode... where Jim comes to work as Dwight.

One of my favorite episodes are "Gay Witch Hunt" too bad Jim wasnt in Scranton at the time. ... "Whats gaydar? Oh gaydar, I think they sell it at Shopper Image..."

One of my favorite scenes...
MICHAEL
: "Attention everyone, hello, ah yes, I just wanted you to know that this is not my decision but from here on out we can no longer be friends and when we talk about things here we must only discuss work ah associated things and ah you can consider this my retirement from comedy and in the future if I want to say something funny or whitty or do an impression I will no longer, ever, do any of those things..." JIM: "Does that include thats what she said? MICHAEL: "Uh huh, yes." JIM: "Wow that is really hard, you really think you can go all day long? Well you've always left me satisfied and smiling... so." MICHAEL: "Thats what she said! (Muah!)"

reid - that cold open with Jim pretending to be Dwight was absolute fucking genius. "Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica."

The ep when Jim convinced Dwight that he was a vampire comes to mind as well. Particularly when Dwight was trying to catch the bat trapped in the break room and nearly killed Meredith.

or when Michael asked Toby... "Let's see your penis!" and if you watch closely you can see John Kras hiding his laughter under his hand.

and when Dwight called Phyllis, phallus cause he has penis' on his brain.

LOL!

hotbt... you're fricking awesome! Nice to meet another Office extremist!

Likewise buddy. Just think, we haven't even discussed Michael's barely concealed crush on Ryan or Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration. Or Kelly, who can be summed up by this exchange when Jim came back from Stanford:

KELLY: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, they had a baby named Suri. And then Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, they had a baby too and named it Shiloh. And both babies are a-mazing!

JIM: Great. What's new with you?

KELLY: I just told you.

I just remember certain lines, usually because I watch most eps more than once, and I'm a writer so I have an ear for quality dialogue. That one was memorable because it was so perfectly telling about the character (kind of like when she said in a confessional that if Ryan gets laid off she's going to kill herself, like Romeo & Juliet... and then specified "the Claire Danes one") and also because it reminded me way too much of some people I know. :biggrin1:

being in LA you have a much better chance meeting/running into him. I would do anything to simply shake his hand. "lord beer me strength."

youre lucky you live in LA. the chances of you running into him are much greater than here in HI. I would give anything to simply shake his hand and tell him how much I admire his work. "Lord beer me strength."

I've actually seen him in person a couple times but haven't met him. He was at the Grammy Awards with Quincy and Rashida Jones last year, and I've seen him in a couple restaurants around town, usually with Rashida. He's very, very tall. Not that that's news or anything, but it's really alarming when you see it with your own eyes.

are they still together? i thought they broke up? is he just as good looking in person as he is on TV and film? if i saw him i think id be too shy in awe to actually ask him to take a pic with me or get his autograph. plus i think as a celeb, id imagine they would want their privacy.

Not sure if they're still together. It's been a while since I've seen them and I'm not too up to date on his personal life, so it's entirely possible. In fact I didn't even realize they were dating until I saw him at the Grammys. He keeps a pretty low profile.

He's a very good looking guy, I'd say better looking in person. Very hunky, which is accentuated by his size.

He's pretty good natured and friendly, I doubt he'd balk at an autograph or picture if you saw him on the street. Depends upon the circumstances, usually people only get bent about it if they're being interrupted or if someone is insistent after they've already declined. You can usually tell if someone doesn't want to be bothered because they'll be wearing a hat and sunglasses and talking on the phone (or at least appear to be).

HAHAHAHAHA that's one of the BEST. You left out "OOOOOOOmigod Jim, I have SO much to tell you!" Hahahahaha.

Picking a single favorite ep is really hard. A handful...

"Christmas Party"--a classic, and the first one that really snagged me. The white elephant scene is a scream.
"Booze Cruise"--great, great ensemble ep. Steve Carell's really sweet, nuanced performance in the last scene on the deck with Jim is so good.
"Take Your Daughter to Work Day"--Amazing Carell performance. When he watches the video...omg. God, that just kills.
"Casino Night"--it's got everything. "Annnnnd the disabled!" Hahahahaha.
"Gay Witch Hunt"--I may have never laughed so hard at anything as that kiss.
"A Benihana Christmas"--Harold Ramis' direction was tops. "At Angela's party...there will be brownies......but there will also be Angela. Angela...... Brownies. Angela........" LMAO
"Ben Franklin"--the guy playing Franklin was awesome.
"Money"--a lot of people I know hated that one because it was kind of dramatic, but I loved all the dimension it gave the characters.
"Dinner Party"--It's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Pop Rocks and X. Fucking brilliant.

Also loved "The Deposition," caught that again recently. "Everything is completely eerie." HAHAHAHAHA!
