Korean Spa

king spa in NJ or Spa castle in Queens NY. Which is the best?
I went to King Spa recently and it was alright but I swear I saw a roach in the dry sauna which made me want to leave. The pools are fine and look clean enough. The coed saunas can get crowded on the weekend. Food at King Spa is good but pricey.

When I went to Spa Castle a few months back, the outdoor pools weren't opened and only indoor was opened. It was super crowded and was relaxing. I find their pools to be over chlorinated because you can smell it in the air. The dry sauna in the mens area is a nice temperature and the steam room can get super hot. The asian food at the top level is good but the one on the mezzanine is mediocre.

I personally like Spa Castle better but their price increase and the drive makes it more inaccessible to go frequent unless there is a Groupon.

Thank you . Very helpful

How was it?
The other Spa Castle review here on p219 was pretty accurate, though I didn't notice the chlorination being an issue. The coed pools on the top floor are pretty loud with couples, bumping music over the speakers, and kids. The dry saunas were quiet, though. I wish I knew about the upstairs Korean food. The mezzanine is a glorified Chipotle. Until the outdoor pools open up, they're charging reduced rates ($85 for weekend), and the Groupon is further off of that. So it's $60ish for a weekend day iirc.

Was there lifeguards in the wet area?

Deciding between going to Crystal or Paradise spa in NJ. Looking to get a massage and then relax in the sauna— anyone have any preference between the two??

what’s the best spa to hit up in DC/VA? Heading there in a month and will have a couple free weeknights. Mainly looking to relax but if opportunities arise I won’t say no!

There are three places I've personally visited in order starting from the largest and most expensive:

Kings Spa — huge place that is fairly new and has the most services ($80)

Spa World — oldest but with a large bade pool but absurdly hot sauna and steam rooms ($40)

Parkside Spa — newest and cleanest but relatively small ($30)

I had good experiences at all of them, so I'd say go with your budget and willingness to drive?

I've only been to Spa Riverside but I like it. From what I understand, it's the "least frills" of the spas. There is no cafe or anything, just a single wet area with a hot tub, steam room, dry sauna, cold pool, and a bank of showers. I like it because I don't need a smoothie or a salt cave or whatever extras come with a fancier place. I want a relaxing time and fun where it happens.

Speaking of which, I'll be at Riverside the morning of Monday, August 19. It would be great to find a younger fit guy interested in going.

Huh? There's definitely a full cafe. I literally ate dinner there lol.

It's a standard Korean spa experience, just on the smaller side.

But yes, the services are just the scrub and none of the other stupid stuff.
