I think Bel Ami is also following trend to that 45+ min. mark as well. Back in the really old days of porn(70s & 80s), they would never extend it to 45 minutes. It was just quick: suck, fuck, and thank you for the memories. I think with most of today's gay porn is that they are trying to make it storywise when in fact it doesn't need it. That's why it is suffering today. Back in the old days, the performer did his job and let the sex take wherever he wanted. Yep, there was bad acting back then, but at least it got to the point where you know the sex was there and the chemistry was spot on. They didn't need plot A to Plot B. It was right to the point. That's it. Who cared for the acting? It was the sex. I think today's gay porn now relies on plots and that's why it suffers greatly today.

What I think would make for excellent porn is some real plot and scenario. The only thing that I've seen that came close was Caligula by Penthouse. Granted, the true life story of Caligula's reign made this easier to do but surely there can be other, well written scripts, with actors who can act, where hot sex was naturally interwoven into the storyline, where the cinematography was artful and yet felt natural. Also, people who look like the rest of us rather than always having buffed up twinks.

I like the Treasure Island stuff more for the fact that their Daddies actually look like older men and not just guys who are only a few years younger than their scene partner. When I want older guys I want them to be at least well into their forties and early fifties but still cut and fit. Like Derek Steel or Colton Ford to set an example.
