Lesbians

Well, that's always been my complaint with the str8 world- it's too boring! I do believe that's what str8 guys (and probably most woman too) think of when they think of gay male sex. Since they don't see it as "normal" they have no capacity to understand the multitudes of kinds of sex, layers of emotions, or anything else that encompasses the lifestyle of others. It's judgemental and rude, but then why be surprised when bush is in office?

For some of us, it's not a matter of it not being "normal" or not understanding sexual variety. We just aren't attracted to guys. Therefore, sex with a guy isn't all that interesting. It's not always about prudishness or homophobia.

@Aloofman- I didn't mean to say in every case, we were talking about society as a whole. I think homophobia has a lot to do with why so many men prefer lesbian porn. There are far fewer women who are into gay male porn (like me!), but I do for the very reason you said. Overall, I think society is just more grossed out by anal sex than anything two women could do.

however, the modern straight male cannot ever admit, even to himself, that he might derive some titillation or arousal from anything remotely associated with another man's body.
pathetic isn't it?

a few of my experiences are a direct contradiction to this, and i have two examples..

1) many guys i know who are pretty serious antigays thrive on hetero porn. it's a simple fact. they hate gays, use the words fag and gay a lot with negative connotations, but still enjoy hetero porn.

2) there are many antigays who are antilesbian as well. these are typically the superconservative right wing... but i know a good few young guys who (they claim) are turned off by the thought of lesbians in porn just as much as they are by the thought of gays.

One of my lecturers has done a lot of pyschological studies into the homosexual mind, random I know. He says that when his team has approached gay males they are usually very receptive and helpful, and so there is always alot of data available for study. He also said the last time members of his team tried to ask the same questions to some lesbians they started throwing bricks at their car! Cliche I know! But still quite funny :D , this is why lesbians scare me

Now, bisexuals are wonderful. If you find a bi member of the opposite sex who's open to threesomes, you're in luck. (Don't ask me why, but heterosexuals love to watch homosexual acts -- provided it's members of the opposite sex.)

LeahCat: As someone who is openly and actively bi-sexual and has been involved in relationships with other women I can say Ive never found the majority of men to be overly fascinated by lesbians per se. What Ive found is that when men think of lesbians they tend to have a very fantasy driven image of them or, as a friend so neatly put it, "its not the idea of just two women together that turns me on, its the idea of two 'hot' women together'. I dont think your average, garden variety lesbian really makes a sexual appearance on the straight male radar. Rather its the porn variety - slim, big tits, tanned, toned etc- that seem to be their turn-on.

None of the men I know would be at all interested in seeing any of the gay women I know,'getting it on'. However, if you told them that Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek or two other equally attractive women were gay, thats another matter altogether.

Leahcat, I think you just hit the nail one the head. Now, if it was YOU and some equally hot babe, they'd be lining up!

Where have you been, girl? Getting too much to talk to us? :D

Jana!

I think you have stumbled on the crux of the matter! LOL! Let me stop! More power to you, Leah cat! If that is true it is understandable. We have wondered where the heck are ya though...

I think it would also have something to do with women being more sensual than men in general. JMO

So true...I do not consider myself a homophobe at all...but i do enjoy watching girls playing with each other... I enjoy straight porn also...so yeah....

I don't really find it that hot I mean I used to...but now I like girls gettin fucked hard and stuff...not really girl-girl more FFM or a gangbang. Meh. But its not like lesbians turn me on all that much...

Lesbians have always left me cold, nothing sensual about w/w sex at all. I agree with your current views, Knight. Now something that turns me on is Lex's new avatar. When I saw it, I had to give it a close-up inspection to make out every detail of the profile. Well, I wonder if I'm gay or str8 :excl:

Wow,great post,Leah. There was a Seinfeld episode that referred to female "cat fights" (pardon the phrase). And that guys were always turned on by that prospect. One of the characters said that guys felt that way because there might be a chance that the women would kiss after the fight. It's amazing how the male fantasy apparatus is so creative. I think this is true of how we think about lesbians having sex.

Also I think many straight guys have a hard time with gay male sex because they (we) can't imagine themselves having sex with any guy they know, or even more with a guy who looks like us! What if the guy looks like Brad Pitt? B)

You make a valid point, I think, hungrick. I think that since we are all sociable people it's a matter of degree on just how much we like individuals regardless of sex. Beauty attracks (even proved in babies) and that attraction varies in all amounts of degrees, too. When the amount that we 'like' an individual is to the extreme along with an extreme amount of attraction, -- look out, the opposite sex barrier can be lowered. Your Brad Pitt analogy is so appropriate.
