Race is a major part in this as well. It's behind the reasoning of Old Town Road being labeled as "not country enough". It's behind the level of toxic masculinity within the Black community, resulting in a ground for possibly even greater LGBTQ+ discrimination. Beyond that, this country and most of the world is literally built around race and sexual orientation. You can't thoroughly talk about a POC coming out without discussing race and culture with it.What's so hard to get about it...he drops old town road...it starts to die down in pride month...he comes out to keep the hype about him...he comes out with more music while he's being talked about...Now this doesn't explain his account Twitter but I just wanted to explain why people thought so, also there was never a need to bring a race into this as every artists that comes out in the music industry gets backlash and questions.
Maybe you should watch the episode: Lil Nas X tried to explain why he came out as gay. Kevin Hart: "So what?"
