Porn is just an outlet for men. We get horny all the time and it's hard to fantasize about a girlfriend or wife when they are not around. We need visual stimulation and porn does the trick. We don't watch it to pretend that we were having sex with the girl in the porn rather than our significant other, but it does help us relieve the tension.

I've always been a bit intimidated by the beauty of some of these girls... I mean, I know they're fantasy in the guys minds, but they're still real women, showing their real bodies to my real boyfriend. haha... I try to loosen up about it, but it makes ME feel inadequate. This post kind of made me sad. It didn't make me sad because you are imperfect, as we all are, it made me sad because your feelings are bothering you. You are thinking about this the wrong way. Men could be with what is considered the most attractive girls and still watch porn. I know men who have drop dead gorgeous girlfriends who have extreme fascination with porn. They talk about it. In public, with friends and all the time. At least, I don't go that far. To me this is all fantasy except rare cases. Fantasies that I keep to myself unless I'm anonymously posting on forums such as that one.

Porn to me has been a progression. I started out watching the same kind of crap that most men watch. Until I was alerted to the fact by my first girlfriend how degrading some of the stuff were to women. I actually agreed with her. So much so that I am now disgusted if I see cumshots on the body, face or mouth of the female actress. And I can't honestly say that I respect any woman who's willing to put up with that in their bedrooms or fantasies. I finally decided that I had to remove male performers from the process all together if I wanted to enjoy porn because the elements of degradation were always present if they were involved. So, these days I mostly watch amateur solo female masturbation or lesbian porn. I like the unedited ones because they appear to be more real.

I'm not a soft guy at all. In fact, I often find that my overly masculin qualities hold me back in life. I am in touch with my emotions but I can rarely express them physically or verbally at a level that most women and many men are capable of. Perhaps I reserve that function for my sexual encounters only. What I can't understand is when our society began to equate masculinity to sexism? I often hear men say that if you want to keep your girlfriends on a leash you have to treat them like trash. Or that you have to treat them like the whores that they are or things of that nature. This is the mainstream attitude of men towards women. Those who adhere to this mentality will always deny that they think this way in front of their female companions but have no reservations about revealing it to their buddies when giving relationship advice. As a matter of fact this has to be the most common advice. God knows how many times I've heard it from so many people. What role does traditional porn play in forming this mentality in modern western societies? I'd say a huge role. Given the increased access to porn through the internet this is quite a cause for worry.

I see what you're saying here and I very much appreciate your views. Thanks for standing up for the women I think lesbian porn would appeal to both of us a bit more anyhow... Women actually getting pleasure and giving it... no degredation.
