LPSG Spotlight on Alex8!

Heres another; What decides that mass is the deciding factor of how much gravity there will be?

Interesting. I've never seen the complete film but I saw a clip on TV when I was about 14. It sent chills through my entire body. I still think this film has some of the creepiest images ever put on film. Thanks for the info.

Max Schreck was long the subject of much speculation in English-language sources, partly because Nosferatu was his only starring rôle (and an incredibly enigmatic one at that!), and partly because his surname (Schreck = terror) sounded so unlikely in the context.

Actually, Schreck was his birth name and he was part of an established theatrical family that included legendary actress Gisela Uhlen (whose birth name was... Gisela Schreck). To German theatre audiences in the early part of the Twentieth Century, Schreck was not an unfamiliar figure at all, and German cinema audiences of the period also got to see him regularly in supporting and character rôles (to which end, one might say that his portrayal of the vampire count in Nosferatu is, ultimately, a character rôle too).

There's currently a 580-page long (!) autobiography of the actor published in German, which strips away much of the mystery and mystique surrounding him:
Max Schreck - Gespenstertheater
There's an English-language news item about the book at:
Book lifts lid on star of eerie first Dracula film | Oddly Enough | Reuters

And indeed, my arcane and obscure researches focus primarily on forgotten movie actors. I'd love to say that it keeps me out of mischief, but the fact of the matter is that it in fact provides me with the flexible hours required for getting up to mischief.

if you could be anywhere in the world right now, at this moment, where would you be, and with whom?
I'd be in Hollywood with an old friend of mine who passed away two years ago while she still had too many tales left to tell. She lived a block away from Hollywood Blvd. for the best part of thirty years, which is enough to make anyone a little eccentric and fun to spend time with.

if you could go back in time, what decade or time frame would you choose to go back to?
The late 1920s, to cause a furore appearing in (homo)sexually-charged early talkies. I wanted to be the Germanic Ramón Novarro, it seems.

are you an introvert or extrovert?
*flashing my ass at you across a crowded room*
Does that answer your question?

Isn't it past your bedtime in Germany?

Or are visions of Mr. Schreck keeping you awake?

Alex.

Im feeling a bit under the weather. What should I do about this?

Make sure you get lots of people to wish you a swift recovery. Like I just did then.

Talk to the at least one or two of the people you love the most in this world, make sure you're in a completely comfortable position, and drink lots of liquids. And above all else: think of all your happiest memories and smile like an idiot thinking about how much similarly mischievous fun you're gonna get up to in the near future. Boners may be popped if the situation calls for it.

Works for me at least.

You're gonna be feeling fine again soon, and will realize in new ways just how much people care for and about you. This I decree.

Does it have to be a 5 million dollar diamond pink thong...or can it also be a 4 million one?

Part of me thinks that you could probably do without the thong entirely.

I won't tell you precisely which part of me thought that, though.
