Hey guys…so the other day I was using Chatgpt and wanted a workout plan. I took my measurements and input them and the response I got was ….hmmm idk how to explain it….so I will ask: are my numbers really abnormal? I don’t go to the gym, no heavy lifting… I do the basics at home…I’m pretty lazy in that I try to just maintain unless I set a goal. So I’m 39yrs old, 6ft, 174lbs, 46inch back (shoulder to shoulder), 39inch chest, 28inch waist just chose to try and see if I could get it to 30 after seeing it drop to 31 last year)…but here is the part that had Chatgpt going wild. My standing hips are 40-41inches (more like 39 relaxed but like 40-41 after I do some lateral lunges). WHR is like .68 or .69 which is not normal for a male apparently. But Chatgpt made me seem like it’s cartoonish…lol I had to laugh but can anyone relate? Anyone 6ft with a 28 or 29 even 30 inch waist and 39 40 41+inch hips… where there is a 10inch difference between the two?

First lesson is that Chat GPT doesn't actually know anything - it just regurgitates pattern-matched information from whatever is already on the web, so the results aren't really worth trusting.

Having said that - yeah, a waist-hip ratio of 0.7 is relatively small for a male, but so what? As long as you're not underweight, there's no health risk associated with a lower ratio - indeed a lot of guys would love to have numbers remotely close to yours! :) For what it's worth, I'm also 39 (though shorter at 5' 8") and with workouts and cardio my chest / waist / hips are about 38 / 30 / 36 (my smaller bone structure places a lower limit on my waist-hip ratio).

Ultimately I don't think size ratios really have much bearing on what kind of workout you do. It sounds like you're already starting from a healthy build, so I think a workout plan would be based more on what your goals are (muscle mass or strength vs. cardio fitness) than on what your measurements are.
