The stand applies to illegal matters. The pictures were legal,"tasteful" and approved by the parents of this young woman. What needed to be covered up was, yet we still have this hue and cry from puritanical conservatives (equivalent to Islam's conservatives) as usual.
Unlike the 6 year old that you mentioned faceking, Miley Cyrus is old enough to marry with parent's or judicial consent in a number of USA states.
ManBlis is right on it. We're in sexual overload these days with any young hot girl willing to show some. It's become 'acceptable' in our society to allow a 'professional' teen model to be photographed nude, for underage female athletes to go out and sex it up with guys in their late 20's, and to tease us with the wanna-be adult/young women who dress like their favorite slutty movie or music stars. Face it, Miley is being groomed right now to become the next drunken, nude Lindsey or Brittany within the next 18 months, just watch.

It seems as though there is much being about this that needs not to be.
If that was my daughter, I would be more concerned about the bad hair and smeary red lipstick rather than her clutching a sheet to her chest.
I see nothing inappropriate about her photo "scandal".
I thought the portrait of her with her father was very beautiful and touching.
I feel badly for the poor girl that so much is being made about this. How would anyone here handle such a maelstrom when we were but fifteen years old?
She is a talented performer and a seemingly well grounded young lady and such a person is seldom the product of neglectful parents.

That is a worst case scenario, otherwise she turns out like Cher or any other "star", reinventing themselves. My take on a blurb I heard on "ET", their spokesman said to the effect of a 15 year old being taken advantage of. Laughable coming from Disney, the same 15 year old is their cash cow, the tool/instrument to get into parent's bank accounts pandering to children. Mickey Mouse (Disney) is a RAT !
And now I'll turn on the Cyrus family. The old man and his "achey, breaky" heart. They are show people, they market themselves, they count the money everyday. Most of the rest of us wash dishes, have paper routes for our teenage jobs, well these people have tv shows and magazine shoots as theirs. The day the world wants to stop doing this, they will.
I have no sympathy for those that pursue this lifestyle.

The moderators have to protect this site, the owner, the moderators and you from being investigated by the FBI over issues concerning minors.
I am well aware that we are being overly careful. The reason is that this is an adult only porn site according to United States Internet laws. The LPSG is registered in the United States and must follow all American laws. Therefore, any pictures of minors posted here may be very questionable. The standard that we have to be held to is higher than it would be if this was a teen or family site. There are more child predators on any porn site than family site because the predators know they won't find what they are looking for on a family site. They are hoping that someone has slipped in child pornography somewhere here. They are hoping to find it. The mere fact that child predators are constantly searching this site means we have to be very careful.
Also, keep in mind that the moderators did not write the Internet laws concerning what is and what is not OK to put on the Internet. The Internet laws are much tighter than the laws are for magazines or that is what we have been lead to believe for the reasons listed above.
More importantly, that is what the owner of this site has been lead to believe. This is a line that even the moderators are having a problem finding sometimes.
Here is the policy. Any picture of a minor that is still a minor is going to be questionable. Any picture of a minor that you yourself put on here is not allowed. We don't allow members to post pictures of their children or neighbor's children or a casual picture that you take of a minor. We do not want a parent to find their minor child's picture here no matter how innocent the picture itself may appear. If the picture of the minor is considered to be sexual in any way the picture is not allowed. Pics taken from recognized family type media is generally allowed if there is no hint of sexual overtones because those pictures are in the public domain.
I removed the link to the picture in an earlier post. Not because I thought it iswrong to have it here. Since there is so much discussion here among the members yourselves about whether this picture should be allowed here, surely you can see why we moderators are going to be skittish about leaving it up.
This is troublesome for me because I didn't see anything morally wrong with the picture. But I am not an authority on federal laws concerning minors.

Brooke Shields had far more racy pictures published when she was 12.
I saw the pictures... they were nothing.
I am sick of the hypocritical and schizophrenic way American culture treats its girls and young women... especially celebrity women.
What the Ramsey's did with their daughter was by far a more obscene and objectionable abomination than are these simple, tasteful photos of a girl on the cusp of womanhood.
ITs horrific the awkwardness with which we torture these "teenybopper" icons... demanding they act chaste and nuetered and childlike, while we dress them up like porn stars and make them sing about romantic love and physical yearning.
It is sad and disheartening to have to watch girl after girl try to navigate the minefield of intolerance and puritan hysteria... as each tried desperately to gracefully transition from "child" to "woman", from "innocent' to "Sex Symbol" with no allowable middle ground between.
Its a gauntlet we make them run that leaves them damaged and bruised...
Shame on this entire society.
If a girl can get pregnant... she's a woman by every meaningful standard.

Actually NO. Pedophiles are usually straight in adult attraction and lust after children who have NOT entered puberty. As the poster said above if a girl can get pregnant she is a woman. And I can't argue the point that America is two faced. I believe that at age 15 Miley is no longer a child.

Sorry, honey... 15 year old girls with fully developed bodies do not turn on pedophiles. They are, by definition, attracted to CHILDREN.
They may attract slavering deviants whose tastes run to the illegal...
Equating legally underage women to children is part of the PROBLEM.. this culture's inability to deal with the fact that these are people of biologically reproductive age.
Huge parts of the world allow women to MARRY at that age.
Jerry Lee Lewis married his cousin at that age.
I looked at the pictures and what I saw was a young woman... not a little girl.
She is WORKING a well paying JOB in an industry that is SELLING her image as an attractive young woman, who dresses in fashionable and alluring clothing.
Her only hope of FUTURE employment in this industry is if she can successfully transition, in the next 3 years, into a potential sex object... which is the role of 18 year old women in the media.
Nothing she is doing is any more or less shocking than anyone in the modeling industry... the only reason for the flap is that she was being bankrolled by Disney to sell an image of underage innocence.. and the fuss is over the fact that this might cost Disney millions in their Hannah franchise..
From Aguilara to Spears.... we have watched young women try to make this difficult transistion.
Her parents did right by her because this event will change the way hollywood sees her and pave the way to a more grown up role in the industry.
Just like Brooke Shields.
If you want to be mad at someone... be mad at the hypocritical media... who salivate as they denounce.

i understand both your perspectives and i see where you're coming from. but being female, it's really a whole different ball game. i remember at age 15, i still considered myself a child, a little girl even. sure my body was already going through changes and i was maturing. however, the physical isn't always the case. what about the mental level? can a 15 year old really understand the consequences of her actions before going through with a decision like posing for the magazine? miley hasn't reached adulthood, and she has yet to go through the psychological and mental experiences of womanhood either. her body may be saying "woman," but her mind is still thinking like a child. there's a big difference!
