MJ... enough already.

What does it "tell"?

FWIW, I'm a gay man who believes the worst about MJ.

I assumed you were.

That said it's "telling" to me that so many hetero men here at LPSG (you're an exception it appears) are so ready to believe that anyone in this world could simply be pure of heart - or worse still - asexual (which Jackson, I believe, was).

It also "tells" that heterosexual men (since it was to them I was addressing your above-referenced post) are ever-ready to call homosexuals child molestors. You cannot tell me as an out gay man living in P'town you're not aware of the phenomenon. If you do I'll not believe you.

We cannot, in my view, make the mistake of believing only what we're fed. It's imperative Industrialsize that each of us forms his own opinion in this Jackson business. I'm forced to respect yours (much as I disagree with it) and you mine in spite of how much both of us dislikes the other's.

You and I have come to completely opposite conclusions. For me, I wonder often at the jaded dismissive quality of the "oh Jackson was a pedophile" philosophy without considering the extenuating nuances of the individual.

By the way? Did you have that glass of wine at the Porch Bar for me?

Does any of this debated issue really make any difference now? Does someone wanna win the debate? He's dead, his accusers have all moved on (money in hand), the only thing lingering now is your obssesion with the topic, "Was MJ a predator" ?? It only makes a difference to his memory. but since all the sordid stuff was in the past, and you will NEVER really know since none of you were actually in the bedroom with them, just focus on his contributions to music and humanity. YES, he was a great entertainer, and a great humanitarian. Whether he should be looked at as some deity is questionable. He was neither God nor Mother Teresa, just a sad sole trying to find himself in life.

The Porch bar is so last year........There's a new bar across the street at the Brass Key called the Shipwreck Landing........it's where we local conscegnti go to meet and greet.

Ah the UBER Brass Key that took over Roomers... talk about an overblown place to stay. That (to me) is P-town at its worst but I'll give the bar a shot on your recommendation.

lol @ "so last year"!!! I still like the Gifford house Porch Bar for a glass of wine prior to dinner. It's not cruisy.

The A House has never rocked my boat. It's either dead or packed so that your beer gets knocked out of your hand.

Hell remember when The Back Room was really The Back Room pre the fire?

God the fun I had......

If the sun would stay out for a week as it has today Monster I'd say just great but to date it's been one shit ass summer. This week's forecast is better. To date we've had a non-summer.

Hope you're well.

He wasn't found "Not Guilty" He was aquited, Talk about spin.
Beware....I said something along those lines earlier in this thread, and was pounced on for it.

I'm a gay man who believes the worst about MJ.
Same here.
Well - that's not entirely true. I never subscribed to the use of terms like "predator" or "molester". ...But I do believe:
1.) Jackson was gay (ummm...DUH!)
2.) He had a predilection for (much) younger partners.
3.) He surrounded himself with enablers and genuinely believed his wealth & celebrity status entitled him to things most mere humans would've been jailed for life for doing.
4.) He was a psychologically and pharmaceutically damaged individual.
5.) He was an enormous talent.
6.) He died too young.
7.) The tributes & the Staples Center funeral were over the top, but very in keeping with his persona.
8.) If You think it's been milked already, just wait until Sony & the Jackson family start rolling out the CD compilations, tribute albums, boxed sets, unreleased material, demos, DVD's, posters, lunch boxes, collectible coins, etc.. I guarantee it'll be enough to curl Your hair, put Hannah Montana to shame, and single-handedly revitalize the world economy.

My first time at the Back Room was New Year's Eve 1977. I was with my new BF to which I am currently married. The quick math is 31 years together. On Saturday night's during the summer, you will find us partaking of libations at the Macho Bar, upstairs at the A-House, and after that we will be ensonced at the lovely Vault, on the outside ramp where the lighting is at its most flattering.

sounds idyllic ... weather looks like it's turning for the better too.

People I can inform you without equivocation that Industrialsize and his mate live in paradise just now... there simply is no lovelier place than Provincetown in the summer.

I'm sure our paths have crossed. I spent the summer of '76 there. It was Hedonism itself. I, too, have been with my S.O. one year shy of your time with yours. Our 30th is upcoming next month.

All the best. ;-)
