All,

Oh, if you think they are good, I guess you should say so as a write-in vote. I did not consider that as a possibility when I made the poll, but I guess anything is possible.

I'm going to say they both suck on the chance that Chase will change his tag line from "Faina I like Pussy"

To Eric, I like dick.

Just in case....

"Far Away" by Nickleback

This time, This place
Misused, Mistakes
Too long, Too late
Who was I to make you wait
Just one chance
Just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away for far too long
I keep dreaming you'll be with me
and you'll never go
Stop breathing if
I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you, I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand
I'd give it all
I'd give for us
Give anything but I won't give up
'Cause you know,
you know, you know

[CHORUS]

So far away
Been far away for far too long
So far away
Been far away for far too long
But you know, you know, you know

I wanted
I wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say
That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you
For being away for far too long
So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving
Hold on to me and, never let me go

Try
Try and tell me what you're feelin now
Can you try?
Understand that I'm leavin now
You don't have to wonder
What is we're fightin for
Cos we don't have to live no more
In all this denial

I don't wanna pretend anymore
I don't wanna have to lie
Maybe we can be friends if you want
Only if you got the time
I don't wanna pretend anymore
I don't wanna have to lie
Maybe we can be friends if you want
I don't wanna have to lie

Truth
Oh that's what I'm feelin now
And it's you
I have been deceivin
Oh what can I do?
But tell you I really am sorry
But all this talk is the reason

[Chorus]

I don't wanna lie
Maybe we should be friends
I don't wanna pretend
Oh, don't you know by now?

[Chorus]

Maybe we should be friends, I don't wanna pretend
I don't wanna have to lie
I don't wanna pretend

;)

Nickelback sucks harder than just about anything on earth. Sadly, it's music for titty bars, so I get to hear the "Pants around your feet" song at least 1000 times a night, garg, I wish I was dead.

You didn't have a category for castrating the entire band and raping the lead guy's grandma, so yeah, they suck hard. Not even passable as comedy writing. :puke:

Rammstein's Rein Raus is one of the funniest songs I'v ever heard.

In Out

I am the rider
you are the horse
I climb on
we ride off
you moan
I whisper to you
an elephant in the eye of a needle

In, out

I am the rider
you are the horse
I have the key
you have the lock
the door opens
I enter
life can be so splendorous

In, out

Deeper, deeper
Say it! Say it loud!
deeper, deeper
I am well within your skin
and a thousand elephants break out

The ride was short
I am sorry
I climb off
I have no time
I must go now to the other horses
they also want to be ridden

In, out

In (deeper)
Out (deeper)

Ian, I LOVE these guys, nobody realises how tongue-in-cheek their lyrics are. There's nothing funnier on earth than seeing them play someplace like Cincinnati and having all those skinheads mouthing along lyrics to songs they don't understand, when I know so many are about gay sex. haha.

They're actually not terrible musicians, and they get props for being so easy on the eyes.

Rein Raus isn't specifically about gay sex, depending on ones interpretation and inclination, but this one is very specific...

Mann gegen Mann (Man against Man)

Destiny smiled on me
and gave me a present
Threw me on a warm star
So close to the skin, so far from the eye
I take my destiny in my own hands
My desire is manned

Where the fresh water dies
because it taints itself in salt
I keep the Little Prince in mind
A king without a queen
When a woman is mistaken about me
then the bright world is confused

Man against man
My skin belongs to the gentlemen
Man against man
Birds of a feather flock together
Man against man
I am the servant of two masters
Man against man
Birds of a feather flock together

I am the corner of all rooms
I am the shadow of all trees
No link is missing in my chain
when lust pulls from behind
My sex calls me a traitor
I am the nightmare of all fathers

Man against man
My skin belongs to the gentlemen
Man against man
Birds of a feather flock together

Man against man
But my heart freezes on some days
Man against man
Cold tongues that beat there

Gay-ah

I'm not interested in balance
The sun shines in my face
But my heart freezes on some days
Cold tongues that beat there

Gay-ah
Man gayfor man

It's off of "Rosenrot"

My tag line is a quote. Faina is my girlfriend. She said that to me while we were in bed once. I thought it was hilarious.

I liked their first song, but then I heard their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th...oops they all seem to have the same baseline...

Look, we all know Nickelback sucks. I don't think that can be argued. However, the other day I hear this song on the radio. It is super f'in catchy.

I mean, 'How You Remind Me' - that song was f'in catchy. Yes, it grew very tiresome and is the most unoriginal, formulaic, crappy song ever. But man, it sure is catchy as hell. So I look up that album and don't recognize a single other song.

Then, the re-make that song and call it 'Someday' and release another album I don't recognize any other songs from. And that song is super-catchy too.

Now, they're back again with 'Photograph'

How do these guys suck so bad, yet manage to put out one song per album that so many people love?

So, on to the poll. Nickleback. Please try to be honest here.

What is a "nickleback"?

From what I've inferred from the video clips and my own research on Nickelback, I can honestly say that they aren't the kind of band I'd have anything good to say about. Mainly because their attitude sucks, their music like MZ said is almost in type with the kind that strips joints use.

Plus, they're too full of themselves for their own damn good. I can't listen to that.

I had to sit through an entire set by Nickelback two weeks ago when they opened for Bon Jovi over here.

Luckily
- I was far away from the stage so I could hear my friends talk
- It was a hot hot day and I had cold beer
- we were laying on the grass so we weren't confined by seating
- My friends were all girls wearing hot summer day clothing (I think 9 of them)

Nickleback are the worst example of 'emotion' in a can, boring and bland songs, bland lyrics, they even LOOK bland. They are the musical equivalent of anti-matter. Everything about them stinks of the souless calculated ruination of music for profit. They play grunge music a good 15 years past it's sell by date, except they play it without any of the quirkiness or freshness it had in it's day. I cannot say enough bad things about this band, infact I think I already posted on this thread but I feel justified repeating myself. Speaking as a musician they aren't especially talented and the songwriting is very much formula based and generic pop rock. It's almost like they got it all out of a book. I could never play music so devoid of any substance or real feeling (and this includes ANY feeling, I'm not a serious muso art type who cries over Marillion ballads).

I understand the argument about recognising talent, I understand a band can still be great even if you don't like them. This certainly applies in my case to Pink Floyd, Slipknot, David Bowie... you get the picture. Suffice to say there's not nearly enough room for Nickelback under this umbrella.

Even after all that I still feel I have enough bile to possibly double this outpouring.
