I usually paint my toes to compliment my outfit. Sometimes if I'm not feeling so great about myself I give myself a little home pedicure. Something about painting my toes just puts me in a good mood.

I'm very aware of my nails - both fingers and toes. It's just one of my things.

I always paint them to match (same color, number of coats, etc). It's a ritual for me to care for my nails. I find it soothing. It can also be exciting if I have a new outfit and am pampering for a special night with my husband.

I change my polish about every ten days (or as soon as one gets noticibly scratched) and have about 50 colors to play with. The color depends on my mood. I only wear red when hubby is being considered. It's not one of my fav nail colors, but he likes it a lot. I'm very fond of blues and greens. And I will match a color to an outfit for special occasions.

I get a pedicure every couple of weeks. I stick to pink and red colors. My husband loves black polish but I don't like it.

I'm a true Cali girl at heart and am nearly always in sandals. Pair that with the fact that I think feet are generally ugly things... I do everything I can to make them prettier! Toe rings, polish, tattoo... Any shade of the rainbow (except pink). Generally brighter/crazier in the summer and darker in the winter. They're being painted turquoise today!

Had my very first pedicure a few months back and LOVED it.. In the summer I'm always wearing sandals or flip flops so I wanted my tootsies to look pretty. I don't have a rhyme nor reason for choosing the colors that I do either, just whatever looks pretty

Hot pink, bright pink, hot magenta, bright pink, any form of pink that's not pale/natural pretty much. And always with a coat of sparkles over it. Sometimes, I do a coat of the black crackle. I just love pink toe nails. I get my toes done once a month. I love having my feet rubbed and I can't be assed to bend over and paint my own toe nails.

I can't normally be bothered painting my toes, but when I do I stick to a neutral pale pink... except for yesterday when I had the urge to paint them red - not sure why.

I once spent around £20 on the Chanel 'Rouge Noir' nail polish (Uma Thurman made it famous in Pulp Fiction) put it on... and 10 minutes later took it of again. I still have it in the drawer - I'll never wear it but it was so frickin expensive I just can't throw it out!

Painting my toes is one of my favorite artistic expressions I usually use a color that depends on my mood or what special outfit I may need to wear in the next few days. I also have glitter polishes of different hues and cute adhesive designs to to stick onto them when I'm feeling spunky. I almost never paint my fingernails as I pretty much do "men's work" as a job, so the toes are what I over compensate with

Very hot! I admit I do have a bit of a foot fetish, but more importantly, I think that someone who takes care of their feet shows self-respect and care. Keep it up

Truth be told, I rarely will go out the house without my toenails painted. It's a thing. Regardless if I'm wearing sandals/peeptoes or just sneakers. To me personally, It would be like going out without brushing my hair or teeth, or going out in dirty clothes. I think feet arent very pretty to begin with, so they need a little extra love. It just makes me feel more like a lady.

As for colours, just about any colour, sparkles, design or finish I feel like. sometimes I'll match it with my clothes, sometimes I'll go for whatever. Lots of reds and french tips, but also blues/greens/pinks/yellows.. pretty much anything.

Ladies, does anything influence you when deciding what color to paint your toes? Does any particular mood influence you? or do you just pick whatever is there? Do you ever purposely pick out shoes to show off your newly painted toes, or do you just go with the flow? The reason I ask is I am at the beach this weekend and I couldnt help but notice the different colors and styles in which women paint their nails. Call it a foot fetish if you want, but I was moreso seeking answers if there are any.

My toes are always painted something. (I can relate to Katt's comments and feel the same way)

I've been known to paint my toes a special color depending on what's on our agenda. For example:
When we went to New Orleans, my nails were purple, and the big toe had wisps of gold, green, black and silver (mardi gras colors)
When we went to Kentucky, they were Kentucky Blue
I've painted them to match upcoming holidays (orange/black for halloween, red with hearts for VDay, etc.)

My favorite colors are Red (true red), Orange with gold flecks, and Purple
I never wear pastels
I love the French Manicure as well.

But yes, mood and upcoming events have major influence on my color choices.

The beach thing? I think more and more women are becoming aware of their beautiful nails and the beach is an excellent place to show them off. Mine were HOT FUSCIA on my last trip to the beach.

And when going out, I def pick out shoes that will highlight my toes... and don't forget the toe ring.

My toes are always painted, and I've always done my own pedis. I have pretty ticklish feet though, but I'm getting better. Maybe one of these days I'll have an official pedicure. (I'll bring along a goalie mask for them) LOL

I agree with Fancy and am influenced by the occasion, destination or season. I do tend to liven up the colors in the summer though. Currently on my toes is Pink Flamenco. But I wear everything from brights to pastels on my fingers and toes. I love most types of polish, but haven't actually tried any crackle yet. I have a couple large glitter polishes that are really pretty when applied over a darker shade.

I love toe bling and am always wearing toe rings and ankle bracelets. I think it looks nice and just makes me feel feminine.

I was told by a guy friend several years ago, that he feels that a woman appears to be more put together when her fingernails and toenails are nicely painted. He said that it's very attractive and gives the impression that she has taken that extra little step to look after her appearance.

First and foremost let me say this is NOT a foot fetish thread. This is simply an inquiring into the mind of a woman gathering insight. With that said.......

I generally like to paint my toes because work disallows painting of the fingernails, so it's kind of like my way of keeping a bit of femininity. Also, I'm a little bit of a hippy, so bright, happy colours are my bag. I don't really make occasions to show off my feet but go with the flow as the weather or situation deems.

Currently, I'm donning a new coat of 'tree green' (Because every tree's leaves are the same colour). Meh, they're green :smile:

I paint my toe nails every few weeks, usual bright/dark red or a dark brown colour, but I have pale feet which are tattooed so its a nice contrast. Every couple of months I'll have a pedicure so thankfully someone else does it for me.

I'll paint my nails once a month, but its a bit of bother...Colours are either red or bright pink...I am but a creature of habit.
